Two completely different species. Hell, they have green blood.

(watching Star Trek on F/X right now)

The whole Star Trek universe is filled with "mutts", some species just work together. You should try it sometime.

I always thought Spock was basically a mule.

Better question: Why is Spock's mom with the Vulcan high council when the planet starts exploding? Seems like they wouldn't let a human in there.

I dunno. But I do remember there was some type of forerunner race of everyone from Humans to Vulcans to I think Romulans, Klingons and Cardassians. Seems like I recall an episode where a bunch of the different races were trying to get to a planet to find what they thought was a valuable weapon or something and it turned out to be a message from a long dead "parent" race.

Better question: Why are all these brilliant minds huddling in a cave instead of doing something about the giant spaceship drilling a hole into their planet?

Yeap, this one. May be some kind of explanation. Along these lines, alternate timeline Tasha Yar had a baby with a Romulan, who happened to look exactly like her and was a bitch.

In TNG the theory was brought up that there is a common ancestor among most humanoid species. It's why humans can have offspring with most other humanoids.

If man finds other life in other worlds, it's only a matter of time before someone gives it a try.

Was probably some sexy Vulcan chicks out there.

Imagine that eventual manhood nightmare. You know somewhere they have crazy too. Especially if she actually is always right.
