Gordon is still considered notable

J.J. Redick, Shooting Guard, Los Angeles Clippers
2014-15 stats: 9.8 points, 26% FG, 21% 3PT, 4 GP
Lance Stephenson, Shooting Guard, Charlotte Hornets
2014-15 stats: 6.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6 assists, 27% FG, 4 GP
C.J. Miles, Shooting Guard, Indiana Pacers
2014-15 stats: 9.5 points, 2.3 assists, 28% FG, 20% 3PT, 4 GP
Eric Gordon, Shooting Guard, New Orleans Pelicans
2014-15 stats: 5.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 21% FG, 9% 3PT, 4 GP
The marriage between Gordon and New Orleans has always been one worth watching, but in the past when the guard has been completely healthy he produced. This season Gordon has been completely out of sorts and despite the struggles is still averaging 33 minutes per game because of limited depth on the roster. Gordon is the highest paid Pelicans player this season with a cap hit of $14.9 million. It is critical the team finds a way to get him back on track.
Ben McLemore, Shooting Guard, Sacramento Kings
2014-15 stats: 3.8 points, 3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 26% FG, 30% 3PT, 4 GP
Ty Lawson, Point Guard, Denver Nuggets
2014-15 stats: 12.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 37% FG, 14% 3PT, 3 GP
Kyrie Irving, Point Guard, Cleveland Cavaliers
2014-15 stats: 16.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 35% FG, 21% 3PT, 3 GP

We are a week in, not gonna worry about it. Now if they are really messed up come mid-late Dec, I will start to worry.

might as well add LeBron to that list

LeBron:
21.3 points
6.7 rebounds
5.0 assists
shooting a career low 40.4%
At least Kevin Love's rebound #s are up there...
19.0 points
13.3 rebounds
2.3 assists
40.0/45.0/92.3 (btw he's shooting 15.0 fgs per game, 6.7 from 3. That's awesome LOL)

I kinda thought Lance was gonna struggle. Actually I thought he was gonna bust in Charlotte.

What's sad is that, when compared to the other numbers listed, Gordon is still the worst of the group.
It's getting to the point where I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy.

I feel for him, to go from a potential all-star and a top SG in the league to bottom barrel...that sucks man.
He had potential and his knees and body failed him.

AD on Gordon
''Of course when one of our soldiers struggling, we got to try and make sure we pick him up and give him the ball,'' Davis said. ''But it’s tough when you are a great player, you are going to have slumps. All you do is try to get back in the gym and work it out. We’re going to keep giving him the ball. Because we have a lot of trust and confidence in him.''
Any thoughts on this?

He's saying the right thing.
He's probably thinking to himself "frick that guy".

Yeah, I couldn't tell if he was genuine or just trying to avoid locker room turmoil. You think they're really planning on getting him the ball more? I'm not completely opposed to the idea, but I pray they don't continue to do it late in close games.

If he's open you give it to him. He's a proven shooter that's in a terrible slump.

Seems to be the case with the entire roster thus far. I know they'll break out of it as a whole. But I really think EG might just be mentally checked out.
Posted on 11/5/14 at 5:30 pm to Tweak
I don't think he's checked out. His shots are just not falling.
If we are to have success this year, EG must be a big part of it. Austin Rivers is not the answer.

I keep hearing Rivers isn't the answer with no discernible evidence to back that claim up. He played fantastic last night in Gordon's role.
ETA: I'm not saying he is the answer, but there's no point in writing him off yet. Too early, but early returns on his 3rd year are promising. He 99% won't be a Pel next year, so you are correct that he isn't a long term answer, but neither is Gordon.

For me Austin Rivers has nothing to do with EG... The better Rivers plays, the better it is for our bench and team. However, for our team to succeed EG has to produce.

I really haven't judged Austin his first years here. I understood he was a young player(and still is), so I knew he was going have growing pains. But he really hasn't gotten any better. He does have a few good moments were you says "Ok, that wasn't bad". Then he dribbles off his foot, or takes an il advised shot. To me, he just looks outclassed. He just hasn't taken that next step most of us expected him to.

Because this is probably Gordon's worst slump in his career. One good game out of 10 for Rivers doesn't offset those 9 bashful games. Until Rivers can play consistent, he's not gonna "replace" Gordon
