Amazon's chromecast competitor. $39 but $19 for Prime members, releases November 19th

I preordered one but don't need it. It'll make a nice Christmas gift for somebody I suppose.

I've been on the fence regarding something like this because I use an Xbox for my streaming...Its hard to pass up for 20$ though..

Me too. This addresses my primary reservation of the Chromecast not having a remote. This will be useful on secondary TVs that currently can't stream.

I may get it for the watch espn on it. For some reason my PS3 or other blu ray player doesn't have that app.

What is this and how does it work? I don't know what Chromcast is either. If I have netflix, can I just plug this stick into any TV that has an HDMI port and be able to access my netflix?

Yes. It's a USB Flash Drive sized version of the Amazon Fire TV, which is like a Roku or Apple TV so you can stream internet tv/movies to any TV with an HDMI port.
