IMO - the only way to keep some of these spoiled, entitled, younger generation impatient don't-want-to sit-in-traffic bandwagoners' behinds in their seats until the final gun is to build personal escalators directly from their seats to their cars, complete with automatic nose and arse wipers.

Seriously, what I don't get is that no matter """""""""""" W H E N """""""""""""" you leaver, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TRAFFIC. Why not enjoy the entire game you supposedly paid good money for, listen to the radio call in show, tailgate, etc., before leaving ??

Do people not understand that - COMING IN TO THE GAME, not everybody arrives at the same time or even the same day ! but LEAVING, EVERYBODY wants to leave at the same exact 10th of a second. IT CAN'T BE DONE !!!!

This is the no.1 reason people leave early. They dont want to sit in traffic for 1.5 hrs before even getting on I-10 to drive 45 mins back home after a day of drinking and eating.

We must have been going to different Tiger Stadiums throughout the years then. In blowouts, it's the same it has always been

Only if you started going to games in the Miles era and not all blowouts have bene like that even under Miles. Auburn and Florida in 2011 were both blowouts and the crowds for those two games stayed in much bigger numbers much later into the game.

Yes...that game. One of the bigger "rivals" on our schedule and by halftime, the stadium was a joke.

Been going since I was 3 in the mid 80s. Seen a lot of crap teams as well as the good ones

2011 was also the year we were running through the best regular season maybe in the history of college football and were ranked #1. So I don't think it is quite fair to use that as your measuring stick.

I stayed because I was lucky enough that the wind was somehow keeping the rain off of me with the nearby upper deck. Again I'm not going to internet yell at anyone for not sitting in the rain for 4 hours though

2.5 hours before kickoff?? I was with you on all of this other than that part. WTF are you doing for 2.5 hours? I get there about 40 minutes prior to make sure I see pregame and all of that but are you getting there to watch the players get stretched out?

In 'the old days', the only way to watch the game was to go to the game - TV games were rare, and full game replays online, DVRs, etc, did not exist. They also did only a cursory check for alcohol entering the stadium. Both of those things have changed, and while the traffic was bad then, it's only gotten worse.

LSU football on Sat night was always a social event for many - that is not new, and those people, including students, will leave for the next party scene when they feel like it, regardless of who we play or how close the score is.

So don't expect the social watchers to change. They could be looser with the alcohol checks, which might help some.

Other than that, it's a tradeoff - we get more TV coverage and more revenue for our team/school, and we have fewer people who actually go to the games or stay there because they have more choices for when and how and where to watch the game than ever before. So, some will now choose not to attend or leave early regardless of who we play and how exciting our team is and what our record is, when they didn't have that option in the past.

I do think they should consider something like the standing room only tickets for baseball - as people leave or don't show, others can come in for something like $10 per ticket and take the good empty seats.

I graduated in 1985 you piece of regurgitated possum afterbirth unborn mucas membrane skunk rectum.
Traffic was just as bad after games in the late 80s as it is now. We just had more patient fans....

Start the game early so that the night game (which is a huge part of the TS experience) happens only when 4 fingers go up.
Further, the early end leaves more tailgating time for folks who might want to stay and greatly reducing people who rush the gates to leave home.

You can't have a night game, which everyone wants, and be home 30 minutes after the game.

If you live an hour away maybe try to plan your day. If you have to get your kids home because it is too late then don't start tailgating at 8:00 AM for a 7:00 PM kick off.

Traffic is part of it. Yes it could be better. Go back and spend an hour tailgating before you get in your car.

Kind if out of our control, but the best way to do that is for the team to be one of the best, which helps to have fan support to accomplish.

Selling Beer could help, but I'm sure a good game keeps everyone in their seats. The traffic situation after the game is insane, so if LSU is blowing out a mediocre team its just easier to leave early.

Modern era sports coverage has single-handedly caused stadiums to empty prematurely. Until ESPN/CBS stop covering football, which won't happen, people leaving early will be an issue.

All major conferences clamoring over 10 year, several hundred million contracts can't have it both ways. You can't have great TV coverage and expect people to stay or go to the games, especially when the cost to attend games is going up (parking fees, increased ticket prices, etc...)

I'd stay longer if I didnt have to listen to all the idiots around me talk about how Miles is a horrible coach because we dont run timing routes, then explain to me that when Dural goes deep thats a timing route.
