Don't even say anything about traffic. What stadium have you gone to and left after the game that did not have traffic?

If you're going to preemptively dismiss valid concerns I'm not sure what answers you're looking for.

I've been to games in College Station - I parked in a garage for free and was out of traffic 30 min after it was over. I've been to games in Oxford and was on my way to Memphis after sitting in traffic for ~30 minutes. The same goes for Athens, Austin, and many other cities that know how to deal with traffic. Baton Rouge doesn't. Many families attending LSU games live in places like Prarieville, Zachery, Gonzales, New Orleans and Lafayette. They have two options: leave in the 3rd quarter and get home by 11, or leave after the game and get home at 2 a.m. The Stay Bridge Suites at Southgate only has so many rooms.

I think the traffic is the biggest issue and I don't know if there is a good solution. In my case there are many times when I don't stay in BR after the games. I drive home. When this happens I can't go straight to the interstate to head back home, I have to drive all the way through BR with traffic to get back to the interstate. This turns a 2 hour trip into a 3-4 hour trip after a night game!!

My thoughts:

We live in different times, people. What else can hold someone's attention these days for four hours (of stadium time) much less eight hours (of on-campus time)?

The games look SO good on TV, and you can go watch it right outside the stadium via HDTV and satellite hookups. You can't get cell reception in the stadium, so you're wondering about how to meet up with your friends after the game. Better get moving on that. Hey, wait... what's going on in the bigger SEC game scheduled at the EXACT SAME TIME as the LSU game? If we leave now, we can catch the second half... wait... we BETTER leave now because we are going to get stuck in traffic, so frick that.

It's not just a problem at LSU, it's everywhere. BUT... the problem may be worse at LSU mainly because of traffic. You have to arrive too early on campus to beat it and you are pressured to leave early from campus to get home at a reasonable hour. TRAFFIC makes for a longer day at LSU than other places. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I get that traffic is an issue. But there are 7-8 home games a year. Can we all just suck it up and deal with an extra couple hours on the road? Is it that much to sacrifice in order to give full support of the team, even in blowouts?

eta: Solution - day games.

Not quite. Hard to get jacked up for the likes of SHS, NMSU, and Monroe and those games were blowouts. Miss St game was still loud early in the 3rd until they blew the doors off of us. The Kentucky game turned ugly early. If the game is good, people stay. Plain and simple. Our most anticipated games are coming up in these next 2. Tiger Stadium will be pumped

They need to widen Nicholson between LSU and Bluebonnet, pave more parking nearer to the stafium....but that's only part of the issue.

I see some people leaving at halftime. That's way, way before the bulk of the traffic.

ONLY if the team they are playing is good.

Unless LSU is playing a good team and the game is close the stadium and atmosphere is a shell of it's former self.

The Auburn game last year was an embarrassment.

The iPhone changed the way everyone lives now.

Data coverage is virtually non-existent in the stadium.

We must have been going to different Tiger Stadiums throughout the years then. In blowouts, it's the same it has always been

No, I never said day games... I said traffic! I absolutely love coming to games and that is why I do it. But if I could come to a night game at 6 or 7 and get home around midnight then that would be nice. As of now it puts me home at 2 A.M. which is tough.
