Pretty much sums up the debate. Why does the Miles hater in the conversation seem very young?

Good read!
I don't think many here can or have a want to take a few steps back to see the big picture.

but admittedly stopped reading when they started the Harris/Jennings debate. It's not debatable that Jennings has been given every chance in the world to take the job this year, while Harris got one start against Auburn on the road. Jennings giving us a better chance to "win now" is nothing more than Miles rhetoric repeated that is now somehow absolute truth to the "sunshine pumpers". Miles has built in equity over the years that should buy him the benefit of the doubt, but if we go into 2015 with Jennings as our starter...I'm 100% out

Miles and Cameron see them both at practice and know what is best for the team. I'll go out on a limb and say that they probably know what is best a hell of a lot more than you ever will.

The TLDR crowd...got back outside and play with your Tonka trucks in the sand box.

Post was good, with great factual instances. Problem is, Louisiana is an ultra conservative southern state as a whole. A Yankee players coach with loyalty to 18-20 year old kids looks weak and quirky in the eyes of most over the age of 40 that grew up here. My father (72 years old) detests Les Miles, as do most of his peers. They focus on the negatives only, never the positives. It's the Louisiana way for whatever reason. Perfection (as they see it) is the only acceptable measure. Nothing anyone can say, do, or write will change that. In other words....Haters gonna hate.

I think Miles could do better, but lets face it, can't we all. Pursuit of perfection is a lost trait in society as a whole, mediocrity and half arse is becoming more and more of the acceptable norm in the nation. I'm glad to see some, if not most in Louisiana do not accept that, and question the decisions and accountability of the most prominent coaching position that is paid millions in this state. The balance of the nega's and pumpers is actually a good thing IMHO.

then get the fk out then, now...seriously. If you can't see that Harris doesn't understand a lot of the plays yet, then you just aren't wanting to see it. You think the coaches don't see this shite everyday in practice? Sunshine pumpers? It's pretty damn obvious dude. I'm not a Jennings fan.....I unfortunately think he may be the second coming of JJ.....but Harris at least needs to know the plays before they trot him back out there again.....jesus.

Jennings doesn't give us the best chance to win, he gives us the best chance not to lose. Don't act like you've seen everything you've wanted out of Harris, because you haven't. When the kid has had nothing to lose and played this year, he's looked phenomenal. I can't imagine why empowerment and confidence in a true freshman would make a difference . I love how everyone jumps off the ship after Auburn while neglecting the fact that Jennings played the entire second half against that very same team in garbage time and did NOTHING. Jennings is terrible. I don't think Harris is a world beater, but I'm telling you right now we are going to have to make some plays on offense to beat Bama/Ole Miss, and I've seen nothing from Jennings that says he can make those plays. We spanked Kentucky and all is perfect? Yay....

People close to situations and personally invested make mistakes all the time. It's hard to pin much of this on CCC, when the situation is so eerily reminiscent of one we went through 3 years ago. We just don't have a world beating defense complimented by the best playmaker in college football this year. Even more so, this is Miles chance to essentially "double down" on his philosophy that year and validate his decisions.

I don't hate Miles at all, and I've vehemently defended him to people his entire tenure at LSU. I think he's a high character guy and happy to call him head coach. I think he's being a stubborn arse right now though at his own peril.

so wait, are you saying bc you know less than the coaches, your decision is better than theirs or are you saying you know better/more than the coaches bc they've watched/observed our offense more than anyone else?

I'm neither a negatiger nor a miles hater but some of those stats are kind of BS. 38-21 against ranked teams is pretty meh with the talent he's had IMO.

It's really easy to hide behind the "coaches know better than you" argument, which is about the only thing repeatedly parroted regarding the Jennings/Harris conversation. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about Jennings. I don't blame you or anyone else, I wouldn't want to have to actually defend Anthony Jennings with actual football facts either to be fair. That's a daunting task.

Can't meh it without comparing with the rest of the teams or coaches along with the respective talent levels. Looks like you already did the assignment since you are so sure. Can you please share with us?

Since there are no more ties in college football, 'not losing' = winning.

You've GOT to be idiot #1, I mean who else would refer to 'Miles winning' as 'Miles not losing'?.

it's not really an argument. it's a fact.

i like harris and i do think he'll probably over-take AJ at some point. i used to think it would be this season but now i think it'll be in the off-season. but i promise miles and cam don't have some conspiracy in place to make sure the worst QB plays.

So, here's the top 7 compiled here since 2007 LINK

Stanford (David Shaw) - 10-5
Alabama (Saban) - 19-12
LSU (Miles) - 18 - 15
South Carolina (Spurrier)- 17-16
Florida State (Fisher) - 6-6
Oregon (Helfrich)- 2-1
Oklahoma (Stoops) - 17-17

Shaw, Spurrier and Helfrich padded stats in one year. You take longevity as a measure and that will only leave TWO coaches in all of America with Les as one. If you go back a few more years since Miles started, his records are even better at 37-19. Stoops has the most at 50-23, however, he hasn't done jack as long as I can remember.

I have no issues acknowledging Saban as the best right now. But, don't be a debbie downer for being the 2nd best with a very good chance to be better in a year or two.

Did I refer to Miles' winning as not losing? No. Did I diminish ANY of Miles' accomplishments in this thread? No. It's a philosophical difference between being conservative and being a gunslinger. I personally don't agree with the conservative approach when it has OBVIOUSLY not worked against the 2 SEC West opponents we've played this year. Again, like I said, we don't have the 2011 defense and Honey Badger this season to allow us to grind out wins against quality opponents.

Still waiting for ANYONE to defend Jennings based on what he's done on the field this year. Anyone? No?
