Still waiting for ANYONE to defend Jennings based on what he's done on the field this year. Anyone? No?

as compared to other QB's in the country or the others on our team?

if it's the latter, then am i just using the NMST game (and 3 min of state vs a prevent) as a reference bc then i would choose harris.
if i'm using the season as a whole i choose jennings.

i think harris has more physical ability than jennings. i think jennings is better prepared mentally to be the qb currently.

edi: i do think harris will eventually equal or overcome jennings mentally and so forth and will overtake him.

Whats LSU

What's LSU's record when he starts the game? And then when u see, the only other option is "Deer in Headlights Harris". How can u not defend Jennings?

Are there people that still think that Harris gives us the best chance at winning 1 of the 4 remaining games? He doesnt give us the best chance at turning the right way to hand off the ball. The Ole Miss D would be salivating, if Harris got in there.

I like Harris, and think he wins the job next yr, but he is just not ready. Not many true freshman would be in this league.
But this post is about the above conversation and is an excellent read. Thanks for putting 10 years in perspective with 1 post.

Did I refer to Miles' winning as not losing? No.

I'm just going to go ahead and redirect you back to this idiocy:

Jennings doesn't give us the best chance to win, he gives us the best chance not to lose.

38-21 against ranked teams is pretty meh with the talent he's had IMO.

I beg to differ. You'd be hard pressed to find any coach in the country that's played that many ranked teams in that time span. Having a 64% win percentage is very impressive IMO.

And the "talent' argument is so overdone and bogus. This false notion that LSU has had the best talent on the field year in and year out is simply false. Ranked teams are ranked because they have similar talent.

Jennings is far more often "deer in the headlights" than Harris. The problem with Harris at this point is he's more likely to make decisions that can really hurt you. He's not hesitant enough sometimes.

I'm sorry, who else has won 101 games in the past 10 seasons with 38 of them against ranked teams?

Does anyone know who said all this because I heard it was Miles. True or not it still has a bunch of good points.

Most insightful read on Tiger Droppings.

Also find it insightful about those Ranters attention spans in today's society that criticism it's length. Too many ADD Ranters out there.

I don't know. I strongly suspect that the "tl;dr" crowd and the "Miles is an idiot, stop saying facts" crowd have a high degree of overlap.

This ain't our year
Isn't it a little premature for that? I mean, there are 6-7 weeks of regular season left, plus championship games. And we made it with 2 losses back in '07 when you had to get into the top 2; now you only need to get into the top 4. And we were 6-0 and #1 in that season (just like State now) and ended up with 2 losses @ Kentucky (where State is headed this week) and at home to Arkansas. Anything can happen, and it wouldn't take a miracle or anything for us to end up in the playoff. A long shot, for sure, but not out of the question.

while Harris got one start against Auburn on the road
Harris has been here since Spring practice (actually, before). And you think about 10-15 minutes of playing time against Auburn is the only thing the coaches are basing their decisions on?

Seriously, get a grip. Miles and his staff have seen so much more of all of our QBs -- and are so ridiculously more qualified to evaluate what they've seen -- than anyone on this board that it is laughable to think any of you can make knowledgeable criticism of their decision making. Y'all are like the guys who criticize a blackjack player for not hitting with 19 just because the next card is a 2. It doesn't matter whether it would have worked or not, it still wasn't the smart call.

And completely stupid seeing as how this is college football rather than high school or NFL, thus "talent" IS coaching; it's all part of the job.
