I'm showing 9 to 10:05 on the guide. And we all know HBO loves them some 5 minute recaps to start it off.

Goodness this is upsetting. I really don't want this to end.

If the show is true to history Nucky lives. He doesn't die IRL until the 60's

his brother on the other hand

I mean this has to be a hard arse show to write for because hte ending is already scripted. Everyone knows Lucky lives lol.

Glad Mickey finally died; and right after he got what he wanted.

Nucky died of old age so he's probably safe.

Nucky Johnson died at 85

Nucky Thompson is a fictional character

They can do just about anything they want with him at this point

He's only loosely based off the IRL guy who didn't kill anyone and didn't even run an operation like Nucky did (he just took an illegal cut of alcohol sales). Winters said they purposely went this way so that they'd have creative license when developing his character.

You're dealing with a writer from The Sopranos. No one is safe.

Awesome episode. Not ready for the finale

Looking forward to the "In Memoriam" for Mickey

Mick was asking for percentages in all Nucks businesses and Nuck told him yea. When New York was telling Nucky they were taking everything I think Mick saw that deal he just made slip away so he was trying to salvish it. The Jew and Luciano spun his arse around.

This is ridiculous this show is ending next week. It is so rushed. Good episode tonight.

Yeah they've sped through stuff much more quickly than in years past. Bummer.

Nucky sure looks weak right now. I'll be interested to see what young William does. He looked pretty pissed at the end.

It really is sad. BE could easily use 2-3 more seasons to really dive into all of the plots that are being tied-up this quickly

Gillian ... on the other hand is as corrupt as Nucky. Will be interesting to see if he gets her out of the nuthouse and the two of them join forces one last time.

Deep down, Nucky always seems to want to help someone. I could see him pulling a few strings to get Gillian out of the psych ward while he still believes he has the political clout to do so. However, as it often seems to happen to Nucky, the one he helps is the one who betrays him in the end. It is apparent that Gillian blames Nucky for much of her screwed up life so I could see her being the one to kill Nucky in a murder-suicide ending. Thus, in the end, the only one that was associated with Nucky that walks away a winner is Margaret, who was wise enough to remove herself from Nucky's criminal lifestyle and who will work it out so she inherits Nucky's investment account.

Enoch Lewis "Nucky" Johnson (January 20, 1883 – December 9, 1968) was an Atlantic City, New Jersey political boss and racketeer. From the 1910s until his conviction and imprisonment in 1941, he was the undisputed "boss" of the political machine that controlled Atlantic City and the Atlantic County government. His rule encompassed the Roaring Twenties when, as a refuge from Prohibition, Atlantic City was at the height of its popularity. In addition to bootlegging, his organization also was involved in gambling and prostitution.

It's a little more than "loosely based". I have no idea if he killed someone or not but he sure as hell wasn't a choir boy. Dude was a bootlegger, pimp, and ran a gambling operation all the while being in control of AC.

Never said he was. Exaggerate much?

As I said though, they've taken creative license with some bigger aspects of his life (yes that's still "loosely based") so I have no reason to think he's safe from being killed off just because the guy he was based off of IRL lived until his 80s.

I'd say you've probably sold it when you knowingly pay off a Mom for prostituting her daughter to a man like the Commodore, pre-Gillian.

Well Nucky did basically make Lansky get on his knees and was going to kill him not that long ago. I can't remember if it was blowback from finding out while he was partnered with Luciano and Lansky that they were smuggling in heroin with Nucky's liquor unknown to Nucky.

Also Nucky and Owen were getting into war with Masseria when Lucky and Lansky got involved with Masseria.

It's a whole big tangled spiel. And at this point Luciano and Lansky wants Atlantic City.

There has always been bad blood back to season 1. Lucky and Meyer have finally climbed the ladder enough that they can have nucky killed without any repercussions. Nucky has had Meyer on his knees twice begging for his life. Lucky has been close to getting whacked as well by Nucky and Jimmy.
