Regarding Nina Pham's condition, im hoping that the change in her condition status is simply due to the fact that a different hospital is making that judgment.

I read the nbc article and it sounds like she was just tired from the trip and that is what caused the downgrade. Hopefully that is all it is.

quote:

"She (is) in fair condition," Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told reporters outside the Bethesda, Maryland hospital. "We fully intend to have this patient walk out of this hospital."

Pham is tired after a long trip, hospital officials told reporters outside the NIH clinical center, a large research hospital that has a special isolation unit. "She is resting comfortably, She is interacting with the staff. She is eating," said Dr. Rick Davey, deputy clinical director at the NIAID, one of the NIH institutes, who examined Pham.

And Duncan died on the 8th, so this would be very close to the end of the 21 day period.

21 + 8 = 29

21/2 +8 = 18.5

Looks like it only half way through the 21 day period.

I think I meant to say from the day he was admitted on the 28th, if he had contact with Duncan from the plane and all. Got mixed up when I went back to check the dates before posting.

UPDATE: The patient was placed in isolation then released: “The patient was placed in isolation at Texas Health Dallas and evaluated with all appropriate precautions,” the statement read. “The patient was determined to be low risk and wanted to leave the hospital. The CDC and Texas Department of State Health Services were advised of this and did not feel it was necessary to have her detained.
