Say boy, you set your standards low, that way there is no chance of disappointment

I'm over the mediocrity. If we are .500 after 20 games Monty needs to go.
The Pelicans haven't even been mediocre. Mediocre would be an improvement.

But if not for injuries, they may have been mediocre last year.

I would say 11-9 is a fair prediction, plus or minus 2 wins. I want to say we start off with a bang considering the schedule, but I think our streaks will come later in the season.

I don't think the schedule is that easy. Of the first 20 games, 12 are on the road. 5 back-to-backs. And some pretty good teams on the schedule like the Mavs, OKC, Memphis, Golden State, Portland, Clippers, San Antonio, Cavs, etc.

Then there are some other solid teams like Washington, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

It's not an easy schedule in my opinion.

I guess you're right. I did not really look into it, just skimmed through your post.

I'd be quite pleased with 13-7 or so.

26-0

We'll be granted extra wins because we're so dominant.

Yeah, as usual I think you have a fair take for a rival fan. Charlotte is not a guaranteed win and I think we'll lose that first game to Sacramento at Sacramento. It's the 2nd night of a road back to back and the Kings have just been a bad matchup for the Pels the last few years. Maybe Asik changes that, we'll see. I will say that I think it's possible this team comes storming out the gates like the last CP3 team, but just reading the schedule, at or a little above .500 seems likely.

11-9 is a worse case scenario, IMO. If they aren't at or above .500 at the middle of december, that's room for worry.

i think 13-7 is best case, and i'd be pleased with that.

Those last 6 games you listed make for a tough little stretch

I agree. That little stretch of road games makes it a tough beginning. I look for the team to hover around .500 till around the all-star break. Give them some time to figure out the best rotation and maybe make a move to two.

Only one game against a possible Durant-less OKC. Damn.

It's people that have been paying attention. Solid team last season, when healthy. The only reason they were so bad last year is because of health. They added Asik, they will be healthy.
