Expensive and not upgradable. Didn't sound any better than most other things, either, to my untrained ear.

They really piss me off. They could easily, in my estimation, make a blu ray unit that would allow me to keep my existing speakers and subwoofer... which are excellent, by the way. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The only Bose product that I've ever been impressed with is my soundbar. Totally happy with it. Otherwise, Bose tends to be overrated.

When Bose hit the early market, I was underwhelmed by the final product. Yes, they were loud for size, but had pathetic response at the high and low end. It was concentrated "mid-range"- they have improved that over the years, but are still way overpriced and overrated.
I remember the direct/reflecting series they had at one time that were fairly impressive. The newer, computer/home theater based products are completely "meh".

I do like Good old Bose 301 speakers. I have a set that are 20+ years old, that still sound great.
