I see our only chance in this game being if we come out aggressive and burn them as they stack the box and blitz, which they will do. If we come out conservative and try to protect Harris, we are going to get behind and play right into Auburn's hands. Harris and this young offense may not be ready for this environment on the road, but we need to find out if we want to have a chance. Our front 7 is simply not good enough to allow us to play close to the vest football like we have in the past. I hope we aggressively attack with our weapons and let the chips fall where they may.

Little chance that Miles does that, especially with Harris making his first start.

It needs to be low-risk aggression, i.e. spread it out and throw it deep on the first play. We don't need a 1-2 man route off of play action with Harris trying to diagnose what the secondary is doing. I'd rather take a 3 and out vs. a pick 6 off the bat. Measure Harris' psyche coming off the first drive and go from there...

You really think Miles is going to let Harris just come out slinging it in his first ever start, on the road, against a top 5 team? Have you watched Les' football teams in the last 5 years?

I don't think any good coach would put a QB under this kind of pressure to start the game. Harris will have his opportunity to make plays, but it might not be early.

Few safe passes to get him comfortable - then . . . turn him loose!

Don't know what the set plan will be coming in but the way our puddin' soft D-line & LB's play, auburn is gonna ram it down our throats from the get go & offensively we'll be playing catch up almost from the start. If our D can hold their own for a while & let BH get comfortable with a couple of drives, he'll gain confidence & settle in which will allow the coaches to put him in good situations with some play calling options. If our D gets shredded from the start, it's gonna put a lot of pressure on BH to play catch up all night.

I actually think Les and Cam will open it up some early in the game. I'm not saying Harris will be throwing every play, but I also don't think we will open with three straight running plays. Just a feeling, I guess. I think Harris will play well, and I think we'll run a lot of no huddle to get him into a flow. I just believe the offense will be much better. It better be.

Agree that it would be nice to see some deep shots early in the game just to let Aub know it may happen.

Whether incomplete or picked, don't go conservative with pop, pop, pop, punt.

amen.

Never understood holding back talented players. It just handcuffs them and actually makes them play tentative, not trying to make mistakes.

We've recruited great players. If they're good enough to be on the field, turn them loose.

I'd love to see just a bomb downfield for the first play; don't care if it's incomplete. I think that sends a message to their players and ours.

I'm all for getting Harris settled in his first start, but I also don't want to see the first couple drives 'wasted' because of it. Maybe that's just me.

I say pass to set up the run. Don't even bother with play action just hit them with quick slants right off the bat.

I don't dissagree. But, I think we will see an ultra-conservative game plan designed to limit not only freshman mistakes but also our chance at winning.

I have seen some gutsy calls from Les in Jordan-Hare. Not sure why one can't expect one come this Saturday to start the game.

Yes, it's the Les Miles way. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

I completely agree. The last few big games that we have played conservatively in, we loss. We need to attack. And I don't mean throwing bombs into double coverage like Mettenberger did versus Ole Piss. I mean pass the ball more on early downs to get 2nd/3rd down and short. Every team pretty much expect LSU to run on 1st and 2nd down. Short hitches, bubble screens, corner routes, quick outs are what we need. And no 2 TE, 2 RB formations on every 1st and 2nd down.
