Was recommended that we go there for a bite to eat. Is it any good?

What are their best plates?

TIA

Been twice. Had chicken salad and shrimp poboy. Both okay. Not the best. Not the worst.

Mediocre food. Mediocre beer. Decent atmosphere for games. Take that as you want. Not my first choice of places, but I won't bitch about going there, especially if the weather is nice and everything is opened up.

They have a lot of different po boys. standard bar food, although you won't get a surf and turf at fat harry's. Pretty cheap too. Kind of a grungy place

Nailed it. Sucks, because it has a ton of potential.

So much potential! Prime location. They are advertising new menu items. I wonder what out of a box appetizer they've added. I've met the owner. He's a nice guy but clearly is all about the bar and doesn't care much about the food. For my sake, at least they have Guinness imperial pints

Sorry to hear that. I had a roast beef and it was one of the best I ever had.

The guy that opened it had been running Parasol's until the landlord booted him.. Then he moved down the street 2 blocks and opened Tracy's.

I've seen about 4 people in this thread eat there. It's more than edible. It's problem is it has so much more potential. Last time I was there during MG the RB poboy was still pretty damn good. It's just an uncomfortable place IMO.

Pretty much. A real disappointment and under-achieving place. They're on COD status with a lot of their suppliers for that reason.

Based on the last few previous tenants, it has over achieved... But it will always be more of a bar than a restaurant...

Yeah that's it. I've had more than one bartender there tell me about how much they struggle to actually get enough beer, let alone good beer, in the place. I've seen that beer fridge practically empty a couple times and they often have to resort to serving Abita Amber out of a ice chest tap set-up into plastic cups. As has been said, it has a lot of potential given the location, space, TVs, history, food .. but it's just not run very well. And you add into that the drughead regulars who make it uncomfortable as frick and I'd rather just go somewhere else.

Is this the place that has the sign taped to the door that reads "Close the door this isn't a damn barn" or something like that?

Seems welcoming.
