I have to get one on Monday.
1-How bad is it going to suck?
2-How long does it take?
3-How much is it going to cost me with my insurance paying 50%

1. Mine didn't suck at all. I had a female endo do mine and she was kinda hot and I acted like I was afraid of everything, so she took good care of me.

2. It took about 45 minutes, but I only had my front tooth done. I imagine a tooth with more roots would take longer. But I felt no pain at all.

3. I think my root canal was about $1300 total, but my insurance picked up almost $1,000.

They're not as bad as people claim. I have terrible teeth and have had several. It's similar to having a filling, imo.

if they numb you up really good, you wont feel a thing.

my dentist knows im a pansy so i get 4 forms of numbness. you could stab a steak knife in my jaw by the end of it and id just smile (or try to at least)

it sucks but it's only an hour so you just gotta suck it up. It's just uncomfortable more than anything, you won't feel any pain. If you do, then just tell them to add more anesthetic

depends on where you go. I have had 2 root canals one only cost me $500 bucks after my insurance paid half but I just had one in NOLA and it frickin costs 1000 after insurance…I would have drove to BR had I known beforehand but it was a case of my mouth was hurting and they diagnosed root canal and said they could do it right now…probably works 90% of the time for them.

I've had two. No pain at all during the actual procedure; just some pressure. Afterwards my jaw was sore for about a week from having my mouth open for so long. I took Advil for pain but it wasn't anything excruciating.

Can't remember how much it cost, but it was worth every dime. I had an abscess formed that was literally pushing the molar out of its socket. I have never felt pain like that. The pain immediately vanished after the root canal.

The root canal doesn't take very long. Maybe an hour. I can't remember. Getting the crown is the expensive/time consuming part.

I had mine done at LSU Dental School cheaper than a dentist in private practice.

The rubber dam is what makes it uncomfortable.

Depends on if or how bad it's impacted. Could be not bad or very bad.

I just got back from the dentist. Root Canals suck dick.

They stick a long needle into your gums to numb you. Then they take a drill and remove the entire root from your tooth and then they put a concrete like substance in your tooth as backfill. Then they say oh by the way you need a crown now. That crown is where they get you because unless your OT rich they're going to get you for around $1,000 out of pocket. You then have a numb mouth for around 3-4 hours. Take the entire day off of work because your going to need it.

Prepare your anus, prayers sent.

I had a molar

It wasn't that bad, took about 45 minutes maybe an hour

The only part that really sucks is the shot, but you've been to the dentist before, so you probably know this

1-How bad is it going to suck?

Mine went well. If you feel ANYTHING at all tell them and get another shot. Some people just sit there and take the pain...makes no sense.

2-How long does it take?

Mine was probably an hour. He said I had deep roots.

3-How much is it going to cost me with my insurance paying 50%

Not sure....got it a long time ago when I was still on my parent's payroll.

it's not bad and not too long, if they shoot you up enough. The noise and the smell of burning teeth is the worst, as they grind away.

If you get a porcelain cap, you may have to pay a lot more since insurances are mostly shitty and want you to get the silver cap.

With insurance I paid like $500

It only sucks because you pay a lot if you don't have dental insurance and you have to stay put in a chair a long while. They will shoot enough pain killer in your face to make your face muscles numb and your arse drool. You won't feel a gd thing. They expose the nerve after numbing you, and touch it and see if you can feel it. If you can feel it AT ALL, tell them you felt it. Seriously, my face was paralyzed for the whole day after. Felt 0.

Can't remember for sure, but I'd say the whole process from stepping into the office and leaving was 3-4 hours? Idk. Felt like forever.

Cost me somewhere under 3k for both the root canal and the crown. No insurance.

It's not bad at all. Had one in high school. Left after first period and back in time for sixth period. Not that big of a deal. Far less painful than getting new wires in for braces.
