Will probably require a long conversation on the issue if/when things get to the next level and if she can't do better she needs to at least be willing to let you take charge of the household finances, at least to a certain degree. Not being on top of things is one thing, but refusing to let someone help you with it is even more problematic.

Did the OP indicate his/her gender...or just indicate that he/she is gay?

it's definitely concerning but it may not be a lost cause. I was irresponsible at that age and many others are too that eventually grow up.

Talk to her and work w/ her on these financial issues and see if it improves. you're only 24 and been w/ the person for 8 months...there's no rush to tie the knot.

Come explain OP.

Did her immaturity with finances turn you gay or were you gay before?

Are you still dating her?

Neither is a troll thread. I created this thread about my bf, and spun it around as if it was my gf. This was a legitimate topic I wanted to discuss but didn't want it to be known I was gay, or cause that to interfere with the OP

ETA- We're still together. I realized I was being too harsh on finances, and being a dick, so I let it go.

The debt doesn't bother me. Paying 650/month on rent is absurd on a 33k salary. Taking unpaid vacation is even more absurd when it means you can't even afford groceries on your damn pay day

650/month on a 33k salary is perfectly reasonable. This is where you lost me.
