More I think about it more you're just coming off as a real anal bean counter type. There are tons of 24 year olds that come off as WAY WAY more fiscally irresponsible as this one. You're sweating out a 24 year old that makes 33k a year over $200 more a month rent than you think is prudent. That's she's only got $500 in CC debt is remarkably good IMO. As for the tickets teach her to drive and park.

Any good relationship is a give and take. You need to look in the mirror and realize that you're pondering tossing a women you love because maybe you have unrealistic expectations about needing to find a penny pincher for a life partner.

It's fine to sit with her and talk it out and help her be more responsible but you also better learn to deal, but you maybe need to think long and hard if you're going to be able to change too.

All good Vagina comes with a hefty price tag in the drive you crazy department that you will have to learn to deal with one way or another.

If relatively trivial shite like this is causing you a lot of angst I'm thinking you're going to be in a world of shite when she comes home and says it's time for a new sofa and counter tops.

No, it's not. I had a friend that made less than that and saved tons of money. You just have to have your priorities in order and make some sacrifices

At 33k a year and 650 in rent this is almost a given.

Six-fifty for rent is dirt. I paid that as a new grad with a roommate back in aught-five.

Some of you people are absurd and have zero concept of reality, or scale. The girl is twenty-four.

not even mention anything about him saying he's in love after 8 months?

I would hope after 8 months he knows whether or not he loves the girl.

The girl is not built to be a career woman. If he decides to wife her up, he needs to decide now if he can handle her staying home

Of all the things you stated, the fact that she lied to you about her vacation being paid is the most disturbing.

That would be like me telling you that you are destined to be poor because of your poorly thought-out ideas.

If you think lies are troubling, she's probably significantly underrepresenting her credit card debt because she knows OP will freak about it.

Tons? Best case you are playing with 500 extra a month.

If you were handling your business she shouldn't have to worry about making money.

All my woman needs to worry about is keeping that arse tight and eating too many carbs after 6.

I used to make ridiculously irresponsible financial decisions at 24. My girlfriend who have now been dating for five years, let it be known that my financial irresponsibility would not be tolerated if we were to stay together. This wasn't an empty threat, though she has been very patient with me. She sat down with me numerous times and set up a budget with me and helped me stay on track by calling me out on bad purchases but also celebrated prudent decisions.

Now I am 29, and I am in a much better situation. You must tell her how seriously you think the issue is and provide support.

In the past I have always done this for serious GF's but that will change, at least at first, with my next. I am so fricking sick of every woman being a gold-digging whore!
