My answer: I find that nothing beats BBQ ribs, but baked bacon with the right seasoning comes close.

I love bbq ribs, but I don't want to eat ribs all the time.
Given the choice, I'd go for:
Fresh jumbo lump crabmeat
Soft shell crab
Oysters
Shrimp
Boiled crawfish
Veal chop
Thick seared bone in ribeye
To name a few and I don't think you can compare foods as easily as you do.

All the things you listed. But I'd put some beef ribs smoked with China Ball on that list somewhere beneath the bone in ribeye.

Fresh fried speckled trout
Boiled crabs/shrimp/crawfish
But after that...not sure what else. I think ribs done perfectly with a spicy/paprika based rub and a little sauce on the side beats even a good fillet or ribeye for me.

BBQ ribs aren't even my favorite smoked meat.

In the smoking category, i would pick a good brisket point and some pork shoulder money muscle over ribs
Also pick ribeye cap over ribs

As far as BBQ, I enjoy a properly smoked brisket or pulled pork more than ribs. Might be the fact that I hate messing with bones.
