What was it like for you when that final whistle sounded on the last game? Did you linger on the field? Cry a bit with teammates? Take pictures with family? Take a memento - a blade of grass from the field or a plastic field turf pellets or a name tag from the locker room?

- Subject says high school, but if anyone has played college sports, then what was the last game like there?

*Not sure whether to put this on this board or the More Sports Board. So mods, feel free to move it if I chose wrong.*

Billy Bob cried because he's a bit of a crier, Tweeder drank beer because, well...Tweeder drinks beers.

I went home, jerked off, went and got drunk with my friends, and dreamed of what it was going to be like to finally get out of my boring arse town and go do fun shite in college

Lost in the state championship game. Obviously down, but knew it wasn't my last game ever.

Wasn't even a starter, but getting knocked out of the conference baseball tournament was surreal, because I knew I'd never play again. You just don't want it to end.

The game was against a rival. It ended with 13 seconds on the clock with a huge fight on the field, equipment thrown every where, and the police department rushing the field. One of our runningbacks ran on the field and drop kicked their QB.

It was pretty hilarious to watch on video.

My last game, we got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs in quite an upset. But anyone in the locker room knew it wasn't an upset. Our group of seniors didn't give a frick. The team next year made it to the state championship game.

How bout after the game 7 in the world series or scoring the final touchdown in the super bowl?

This is the OT son ballers everywhere.

God I remember my 99 yard kickoff return in the BCS bowl feels like yesterday.

I was thinking more of the Shawn Payton speech in the "Boys of Fall" video. But the Boss works too.

I hardly remember a damn thing about games in high school and Jr high. Probably because our coaches, except for the year I didn't play, were a bunch of incapable losers that took the fun out of the game. But whatever. The time I didn't play they didn't win any state championship or anything so it's not like it mattered.

Pee Wee though? We wrecked shop.

In my experience when someone says this
9 times out of 10 they either weren't good enough or were an uncoacheable POS

Got beat by WM 1-0. Hurt my shoulder diving for a ball up the middle. Memories...

High school sports aren't about fun. They're about winning at all costs!

State Champs. Last memory was a dog pile on the Superdome carpet after beating Eunice.

Playoff football loss in a heartbreaker that went down to the wire. A little regretful, but TBH, I was ready for it to be over. Been there, done that, time to move on.

football (2nd round of the playoffs) -- I got a concussion and didn't even know what game I was playing in, but I never got taken out of it.

baseball (1st round of playoffs) -- We were up against the best team in the state, so no surprise we lost. I managed to get a hit in my last AB, and the batter directly after me ended the game with the last out, so I was just glad not to end my HS sports career by making the last out.

Golf team my senior year. We were out of it after day 1 so we started drinking around the 10th hole on the last day. Then proceeded to watch the one good player on our team blow a 7 shot lead on the back 9

Football was a mix of sadness and relief

Baseball, lost to Neville in the state Quarterfinal baseball game in BR. 12" of rain forced the game to be moved from Alex Box to somewhere else. Brister pitched for Neville.
