Just wondering....I know it was a cupcake opponent but geez the stadium looked empty last Saturday

Absolutely, so long as the prices are reasonable.

I predict 55,000 max attendance this week.

They did sell beer in Houston and that was a big mistake.
Cops made them stop selling alcohol at half time. Over 400 arrests and majority of them cause LSU fans were fighting with their own fan base.
Alcohol has no place in college stadiums.

beers are still much cheaper at a bar/tailgate. people leave at halftime because the games are on tv, not because they can't drink in the stadium. the people who are that concerned about drinking bring it in the stadium with them

No. Every time I've attended a game in which alcohol is sold, it's damn near miserable. Too many can't handle it and don't know when to say when.
It would turn people away in my opinion. HD broadcasts are causing the low turnouts. That plus parking, traffic, etc.

No, it will just make the experience for non drunks less enjoyable

I was pro-alcohol sales at LSU games...until my experience in Houston.

Please no. It would not last a season. But it would be interesting while it was in effect.

Do they didn't.
It will keep some fans from leaving until last call. End of 3rd perhaps?

Your opinions are bad and you should feel bad.

They could do a promotion like baseball used to do. They had the McDonalds homerun light. Just do some promotion in 4th quarter to keep people in the stadium
Posted on 9/12/14 at 1:53 pm to TigerFan244
No. I leave early to get home in blowouts.

Exactly. There is a large portion of the fanbase (of all socioeconomic status) that come to the game simply for the "event". The tailgating, visiting with friend, etc. is more of the event than the actual game. It's almost as if going to the game is an obligation as opposed to a privilege. Those type of folks go into the stadium then realize that its more fun and comfortable to go to a bar, tailgate, home to watch the actual game. With every game being on TV there's really no reason that you "have" to go the game.
Lest I sit in my glass house and throw stones, I generally will leave the "cupcake" games sometime in the late 3rd early 4th quarter if the score is out of hand. My biggest reason for doing so is that while I am an LSU fan, I am also a college football fan in general. Watching LSU finish out a 56-0 route all the way to the end isn't as appealing as flipping on a more exciting an competitive game elsewhere.
