Here it is, lads. And no, I'm not taking the piss, you bummers.

Scotland secession stuff

Below: Scottsman Andy Murray, sporting a Scottish flag windbreaker, yet hoisting a UK/British flag after his Olympic Final victory at Wimbledon.

Scotland independence is leading the polls now correct?

I think the smart money is still on "no" coming through - kind of like when Romney had virtually pulled even in the polls after the debates yet Nate Silver's analytics still showed Obama with an 80% chance of winning. I hope that analogy makes sense.

It is not hard to tell a pollster that you support Scottish Independence, but when many current "yes" folks get into the voting booth, I bet many will realize the magnitude of the situation and keep the status quo.

It ain't hard to talk the talk, but walking the walk is a whole other story.

Agreed. Good explanation I was struggling with it.

I think it will end in a no vote, but the closer and closer it gets I hope they vote yes, just so that Salmond gets what he wants, realises what a mistake it is and fricks the country.

He literally has no answer to any of the big questions, especially currency, while most of the big companies in Scotland are saying how if a yes vote does come they will leave or prices will go up. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised Scotland didn't get into the EU for about a decade either as they would need to prove they can stand alone and be a stable country/economy once cut of from the UK.

The voting is stupid as well, letting 16 year olds vote, but not allowing Scottish nationals living in a different area of the UK.

I watched an interview with him yesterday and all he does he talk about how it is Team Scotland vs Team Westminster, when it was pointed out that its not Westminster/England he needs to convince its people i Scotland as they are the ones voting, he was dumbfounded then continued to grumble about Scotland vs Westminster, the guy is an idiot.

Also I'm pretty sure that windbreaker is just the team GB jacket.

The Scots ain't leaving the UK....The Scots love to bitch about London but they ain't breaking those ties for lover nor money.

Funny thing about Scotland....by the way the best "nation" in Europe in my opinion....they have their own currency...the Scottish Pound....printed by the banks that issue them. They are supposed to be the same value as the British pound and accepted anywhere in the UK...except they ain't...you go to a store in Edinborough and buy anything and you will be charged a different price when they see you are paying in pounds-scot instead. Go to the bank and you will be issued Scottish Pounds....but if you exchange them for Euros or $ at a currenct exchange OR your bank you will be VERY disappointed in how low their value is. Again the Scottish version is supposed to be equal to the British version but it is not....Scotts don't want them when they can get the British version and banks . currency exchanges will pay less for them than they do British pounds....

I have literally just left working for Travelex.

If you aren't being given the same rate for the Scottish £ as English £ then you are being ripped off. They are worth the same, I understand why some people in England don't accept them, same as the NI notes, because they are rarely seen and so people are suspicious. But if you take them to a bureau de change and are given a different rate, then walk away. I live/work in Oxfordshire, so not exactly close to the border and would exchange, Scottish, Ulster, RBS etc. notes as the same as the traditional notes.

Sean Connery supports independence.

Hard to go against that.

Groundskeeper Willie: It won't last. Brothers and sisters are natural enemies! Like Englishmen and Scots! Or Welshmen and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots! Damn Scots! They ruined Scotland!

Principal Skinner: You Scots sure are a contentious people.

Willie: You just made an enemy for life!

Numerous factual errors, not even close to a decent explanation of why many Scots want to leave, and many more. Basically, don't get your political news from a gossip site.

That isn't a St. Andrews windbreaker, it's a team GBR Olympic jacket. It's so artsy people don't realize what it is. LINK

Never had that happen during my time in the UK.
