How is the 5c?

My wife needs a new phone and I'm trying to think of why she wouldn't need to just get the free 5c. I know they made it cheaper but how cheap is it? Is it any worse than the s4 plastic?

2 generations old processor and whatnot, it'll slow down faster as the os and other stuff gets upgraded over time.

The 5c is essentially a reskinned 5, so it's only half a generation above the 4s she has now. Unless there is reason to get a new phone, like a broken screen, you might as well keep her on the 4s and wait until the upgrade cycle next year.

Mine is great. Big upgrade from the 4S I had. I may get the 6 and give my wife this 5C.

It's a big upgrade from the 4s. The weight difference is substantial.

I would get the 5 over the 5c. The 5c is basically the 5 except stuck in shitty plastic

it is literally the 5 put in a new body. You will be dealing with a very out of date phone when your wife is due for another upgrade, but she may not care about that.

spending the extra 200 bucks to get a current model phone, considering its something someone typically uses many times a day, everyday for 2 years, seems like a no brainer to me

For me sure, she really doesn't care though. She doesn't want one bigger than the 5s.

I like the plastic better than metal. I had a 3GS with the curved plastic back, then a 4S with the metal/glass, and now a 5C with the plastic. It is very lightweight, even with my OtterBox commuter on it.
