He pointed out that A. Jennings inability to throw darts will catch up will LSU. Example: 2nd TD pass to T. Dural in the middle of the endzone was a duck and would have been picked in the SEC.

What's your opinion?

Can Jennings get a first down in 3rd-12 situations against a good secondary?

Are people being picky?

Arm strength isn't everything. Accuracy, timing and good decision making has allowed many college QBs to excel without elite arm strength.

Honestly, I'd like to see a 3rd and 6 conversion where we complete an 8 yard pass instead of going for the deep ball. However, I do understand that it may have been a gameplan thing playing matchups with our receivers against the SHSU corners. If they were locked up with no safety help, I can see why we'd go for it all.

His arm seems plenty strong enough. That pass was a duck though. Not one of his better throws (eta: as far as spiral).

But saying he cant throw darts is clearly not accurate.

Dont agree about the second td but I do have concerns about him locking into to the deep ball.. We had multiple intermediate routes wide open in is sight line when he choose to throw a deep ball.. We will need those as we saw last year with Mett. Those darts across the middle when the safety is pulled back can be deadly

It was very well placed but it was a duck.

He's just hyping up the local kid. Fletch is a good dude; just way too biased to Dak Prescott (starting to be warranted) and Harris.

it looked like a Peyton Manning pass… wobbly but on target and easy to catch.

b/c when you have a big athletic receiver in a short yardage situation in/near the redzone, you certainly wouldn't give said athletic receiver a chance to go up and get the ball

re: Mett to Jarvis Landry in bama game '12 (nevermind the ending of the game)....and landry wasn't even big

Did he miss that very "handsy" catch by Quinn on the out route?

Peyton Manning's passes aren't real pretty either, btw. Nor Drew Brees'. Now Ryan Leaf? THERE'S a dart thrower.....

The bigger issue is AJ's ability to find the 5-10 yard crossing route, or throw the touch pass in the screen, instead of looking for the bomb. I know Jarvis Landry isn't here any longer, but some of these guys (Quinn, Fournette?) should be able to find the seams.

No doubt he will not do as well against teams with very good DBs, who does? I like what I see from him so far.

Once Tim can get on the field and defend the pass and one of our WRs, he may place an input.

By this standard, not one sports broadcaster can make a negative comment about our team? I think Fletch has a decent show and likes his hometown guy. What's wrong with him calling a few of Jennings throws duck-like?
