2nd TD pass to T. Dural in the middle of the endzone was a duck and would have been picked in the SEC.

I cannot stand this "an SEC defender would make this play" nonsense. Overall, yes, SEC defenses will be much tougher, as the level of athleticism and coaching is superior, but to try and prophesize where a defender will be on the field, if he can make tge cath, and if the throw would actually be made at all is just ridiculous. Chalk up a TD as an INT BC its not an SEC school (and yes we saw similar statements in the wisky game). The SEC is good, but it is not filled with superhuman football machines that capitalize on anything less than perfection.

And, I thought it was a good throw.

That's who Cam Cameron is, so I'm not worried about a "penchant for the homerun ball.

This is true. We want to run the ball, and basically throw to make it easier to run. No quicker way to do that than to connect on a few long balls. There are other ways to do it, but if this system is effective, than why bother.

People need to relax and give Jennings some time. That was just his 3rd start. He is improving with every snap. I am happy as could with how he is coming along.

Diarse against Wisconsin along the left sideline. Completed it about a yard short, and Diarse bulled his way to the first down.

One of the best SEC QB's ever Danny Wuerfell had average arm strength, yet his timing and decision making was superb.

Plenty of QB's with bigger arms but few if any have been better.

AJ has a better arm and is more mobile. I like his development so far.

If he's going to bitch he picked the wrong throw to call out. I just watched it again.

It was a 36 yard throw in the air that had some wobble to it but was placed perfectly. I don't think that gets picked at all by sec defenses. Fletcher's and idiot on this one.

I feel if he can throw a ball 36 yards and place it perfectly, we will be just fine on 3rd and 10 type throws.

My concern with Jennings is his tendency to float balls when throwing off his back foot.

Valid concern

Nope. Most of the screens have looked bad because he didn't put ENOUGH air under it.

It was very well placed but it was a duck.
What does that even mean? He placed it where it needed to be with the exact velocity it needed to get there to be " very well placed"

Anyone ever see Phillip Rivers throw a pass? Makes Jennings look like Brett Farve

However, I do understand that it may have been a gameplan thing playing matchups with our receivers against the SHSU corners. If they were locked up with no safety help, I can see why we'd go for it all.
Honestly, I'm happy with going deep in those situations for that very reason. If we force them to back those safeties off then our underneath passing game and the run game are more viable options in those situations. I would love to see Jennings (or Harris) challenge the secondary deep every time the defense creeps the safeties up in the box.

Yep. The most successful one was the middle screen to Hilliard (Wisc game) that we've been running since Charles Scott was here. But that's how that one is supposed to be thrown. It's like he's trying to throw them all that way.

ETA: It's a minor quibble that will get sorted out with experience.

By this standard, not one sports broadcaster can make a negative comment about our team?
I think the point is more regarding whether anyone should pay attention to any sports broadcaster's comments, positive or negative.

It's pretty hilarious what people will say just to get Harris to start.

Until I see an SEC secondary worth a damn against a good team this year, all that bullshite about "won't work in the SEC", can kiss my arse.

Oh you also forget that Fletcher is a sports reporter for Shreveport Bossier and Harris is from Bossier.

Well, not only does it serve to open up the box, it also is very low risk.

I've heard some complaints about forcing the go route to Dural, but I believe this has been pre-determined with the staff, not something he has decided all on his own.

I may be giving too much credit here, but I'm pretty sure they don't trust him enough yet to be allowing check downs and multiple post snap reads.

I think the fly route is his check down to minimize the costliness of a mistake and to keep them honest.

There were at least 2 screens against Wisconsin that he lifted it over the RBs head because he was back pedaling.

The one to Fournette stands out the most

1. Who is Tim Fletcher
2. Why should I care what he says?
3. Are touchdown passes suddenly bad?

Somebody really needs to send him the Quinn catch on the sideline.
