101 is a pretty long list and I don't care to analyse the whole thing.

nola

2 New Orleans area pizzerias made the list, Slice's PGA Pizza (93rd) and Domenica's Calabrese Pizza(72nd).

quote:

Slice came it at No. 93 with its prosciutto, Gorgonzola and arugula pie. The Daily Meal calls Slice "one of the few places in the South that gets how to serve thin and crispy, charred-under, quality versions of the single-serving size for which it's named."

quote:

Domenica came in at No. 72 with its calabrese pie. "You'll have a hard time choosing between the 17 pizzas made in the Pavesi pecan-wood-fired oven," the Daily Meal said of Domenica. Of Domenica's clam pie, it added, "It may not beat Pepe's, but whose does?

Certainly Domenica is deserved, but Slice aint cutting it in my book.

If you cared, the # pizza in America was Frank Pepe's from New Haven, Conn.

I didn't see Zachary's in Berkeley. And I didn't see Aurelio's in Chicago.

This list stinks.

Agree that Slice shouldn't be on this list. I can think of four or five specialty pies from Pizza Delicious that blow the doors off of anything at Slice. Broccoli rabe & pancetta, or the sopressata & pickled red onions....just to name two.

I like Slice and think it's top 5 in the city but yeah Pizza Delicious is better…at least they got Domenica right…but shite making a top 101 pizzas in the entire nation is fricking hard.

St. Clair is tremendously good...

I gotta get back to Pizza D now that they're back open after vacation

That's what I keep hearing. Need to find them one night.

Somehow, Pizza Delicious has eluded me this long. I have to get over there at some point.

Dolce Vida is good, but not sure if I would call it underrated. Everyone I know who has tried it thinks highly of his pie. It certainly stays under the radar in that location. Hope he makes it, but I'm not sure he will.

Poor word choice. As you stated Dolce Vida is not underrated, just not well known.

I also really hope he makes it as I enjoy his pies, but he just has not gotten much publicity. I don't hear many people talk about his place.

Hopefully he is doing better than appears.

If he set his place up right he could make enough money over Mardi Gras to keep the doors open all year
