Been years since I've boiled a sack? Help with times and seasonings is appreciated.

Make the water salty to taste (some use crab boil, I don't care for them that way, but if you do get water just like you do for crawfish), bring peanuts to a hard boil, back off the heat to just boiling, keep it going for a few hours, and soak for another 30-45 minutes till they are how you like them. A good rule of thumb is it takes a whole football game, start them at kickoff and some where in the third qtr turn the heat off and let them soak till it is over....give or take

Cover them in chocolate and then put a thin layer of chocolate on top of that.

Are you locked into the idea of boiling? I'm not really a fan of boiled peanuts. I always thought it would be cool to rig a small barrel to a bicycle setup to rotate it over a propane burner. Nothing like fresh roasted peanuts.

Put in quart size ziplock and freeze, I do not cover with water for the freeze but some people do, when ready to eat pull out of freezer put in pot cover with water and bring up to temperature

Salt the water heavily. I add a little liquid crab boil. Boil them covered until they get tender, but not mushy. They will be floating on top at this point. Cut the heat and let them soak until they sink. I normally do this overnight.

I use a combo of liquid and powder crab boil, along with some chopped onions and lemons. I start light on the spice and adjust as the boil goes on and I have to top off with more water.

I couldn't imagine the opening weekend of college football without boiled peanuts.
Enjoy.

Put them in your pot, cover them with water and bring them to a boil. After one hour, turn the fire off and let them sit for two hours. After two hours, add two boxes of Tony's (large size), a quarter box of salt and bring them back to a boil. The second boil won't take long and you should start tasting them for tenderness shortly after they return to a boil. Once tender, turn the fire off and let them soak until seasoned to your liking.

This will give you a nut with more salt than heat but the heat will be there. The taste just isn't as strong as those boiled in crab boil.

You can boil them the same with just salt if that's how you prefer them.

I've tried to like em, and I don't really hate them, but still prefer them parched.
Peanuts, big glass of cokey cola and football, that's the way I like it, uh huh, uh huh.

I'd fry some and toss in a salty seasoning when they come out.

30 plus pound sack in a crawfish pot. The OP said he had a 30 lb sack coming. I assumed that he was going to cook them all at one time.
