I'm really beginning to feel that we didn't only get a good player in Jamal Adams but we may have found ourselves an incredible player.

You can tell from the coaches that Jamal must be making some incredible plays. Chavis was asked for a few breakout players for this coming season and the only one he named was JA.

Les glows and constantly brings him up everytime he is in a media session. Whats your expectations for Jamal not just this year but for his whole career? From everything I gather, Jamal Adams barring injury may end up with Eric Reid type accolades.

Hes a stud and has been the most impressive freshman at camp, along with Dupre.

Expectations.... ST stud early on, rotate in nickel / dime situations as the other safety when we bump Mills down, and then earn more and more PT as the season goes on. Eventually playing more snaps than Mills at FS alongside Martin at SS.

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't take the Eric Reid route and get major PT in the later part of his freshman season.

Pure. Athlete.

The guy could probably play every position and excel at it.

His training camp videos before he signed were absolutely incredible. He manhandled anyone that came near him, including Malachi.

No. Fournette has been as expected. He's a generational talent. Defensively though Jamal has opened eyes.

LF is in his own class. He isnt a freshman... hes a manbeast. Hes the most impressive player in the history of the world. PERIOD.

Im not suspect for not putting him in the "most impressive freshman" group... yall are suspect for wanting him in that group. LF isnt a freshman. LF is man.

I think that's really what it is. We already know LF is the most impressive so everyone kinda skips over that

His dad, George Adams was a very good RB at Kentucky and was a 1st round pick for NYG in the early 80s.

Thats because I dont think Martin will get benched...

Martin was at FS last season because we didnt have anyone that was ready to play FS at the beginning of the season. So he was pretty much forced to play back there. Martin played SS every year at LSU except for last year. And he looked promising as a youngster filling in for Loston whenever he was hurt. He made plays back there.

A lot of people dont realize that Martin had a tough year last year outside of football... his Dad passed away in the beginning of the season and he didnt want Ronald to miss any time. So Martin kept playing. And his mind wasnt on football then, and understandably so. Then, in the middle of the season he breaks a bone in his foot. Tried to play on it, got worse.

Hes finally back at the SS position and has a firm grasp on the starting spot. And hes a freak athlete... 6'3 220lbs right now. Played basketball for LSU his freshman year. 41+inch vertical. Was a 4sport letterman for 4 years in high school (football, basketball, baseball, and track). Was All State in football as a sophomore, and then in football and basketball both his JR and SR year. And led them to state titles in both football and basketball as a Senior. And was all district in track and baseball.

He was playing out of position last season and had a brutal year outside of football. But now hes back to his natural position of SS and has been really good during camp. Hes the SS and I expect him to have a really good year.

Mills is the FS right now, but there is uncertainty there with his legal issues pending. And Ricky Jefferson has looked good so far in camp and has made a push for the job.

The FS spot is wide open IMO. The SS spot... not so much.

Regardless... Adams will be seeing PT when we go nickel / dime packages. And hes been playing both FS and SS.

I have to laugh at the thought of hootie decommitting from Bama and expecting LSU to give him the time of day once Adams was in the Fam.

As for expectations and all, I will be happy to see him gunning on kick coverage until someone becomes suspect at safety and opens the door for Jamal to start. Then the age of Jamal begins;)

And he's fast too!!

Eventually, I think when we go nickel, adams goes to safety and mills slides to cover the slot.

Yeah thats def how I see Adams getting on the field early on... along with ST.

And I think he could eventually take over Mills spot as the season goes on.
