Why don't they make dog food taste like treats?

As some of you know, Otis hasn't eaten his dog food since he got here. I understand he's just getting used to the move and will eat when he's ready
But I feed him beggin strips and he eats them right up. I feed him his dog food and he goes and drops it under the table
So why don't they just make dog food taste good? Can he live off beggin strips? It's all he's had since at least Saturday morning

True story. My cousin and I used to sneak into the cabinet and eat the dog biscuits when we were little. Apparently peanut butter was our favourite

dogs don't really care how food tastes (their taste buds aren't as sensitive as ours)
they go mostly by smell

I've tried a milk bone before along with a beggin' strip. I can now understand why dogs go batshit crazy for "people food."

This is a great question?
Also, why doesn't healthy human food taste like chocolate or wedding cake?

My dog dry heaved last time I put his Trifexis by his face. fricker didn't even eat it and was trying to throw up everywhere
I went through about 10 different types of food before I found something my dog liked.

I was going to say just feed the dog bacon. But I guess you don't know how to cook bacon?

Is it the same food he used to eat?

My puppy loves the Purina Puppy Chow or whatever it is.
He gobbles it up as soon as I put it down
