Actually had a badass bone marrow plate a few weeks ago at Toups. Came with escargot and crusty bread. It was fantastic.

Good to know. Would never have any thought of that place for that dish. Will check out soon.

I haven't been to The Steak Knife in years, but they used to have a really good osso bucco.

Maple Street Cafe is a good version.

With all modesty, I made osso bucco this past winter and I swear to God it was good as or better than any I've ever had at a restaurant.

I had an incredible osso bucco at the Steak Knife Christmas Eve 2012.

Also, I had a fried osso bucco at Domenicas a year or two ago. I think it was a one time thing but it was very good.

So happy to read that coming from you VOR and I believe you. Maybe you'll understand the best I ever had, I cooked.

Yep. It's not that hard. You just have to start with a good cut and pay attention. And have lots of wine.

Dick and Jenny's has it now. I've never had it but it's supposed to be the same as Christiano's. It's good there.

Toups is probably a good one.
I would think Eleven 79 would have it on the menu.

Domenica, Fausto's in Metairie.

Thanks to everyone for the good recs in NOLA.

If you come to Laffy, Marcello's sometimes has a killer osso bucco.

Just this weekend we ate at the only Indian restaurant in town, Masala (on Kaliste Saloom Rd) and I had the lamb osso bucco special, and it was very good. Took home the leftovers for a great Sunday lunch.
