For those of you Outdoor boarders that like to cook big pots of jambalaya, but don't go to the Food & Drink Board much. I just wanted to put this here so you can take a look at my Jambalaya Calculator. If you're skeptical, please checkout the Feedback tab to see what others say about the calculator.

F&D Board Post

Also, the calculator (ver 6.0) was written up in the Times Picayune a couple of years ago.

The link is for a download. You should be prompted for where to save the file. I know it's kind of unusual, but it's hosted on DropBox and that's how it works.

I used it last weekend to cook a 16 quart pot full. The cooking process is right one, the rice turned out perfect.

It was under seasoned and I have a heavy hand. Also, I should have put more meat. Over all, the calculator was spot on.

Glad it worked out for you.

This is great! I've used Oak Grove mix for years, which produces a pretty good jambalaya, but have always wanted to make a "scratch" jambalaya. Your calculator should prove to be very helpful.

This was mentioned before on the F&D board. Excel is one thing, programming an app is a whole other animal.

Thanks, now that I'm living in Birmingham, AL, all the good cooking duties are bestowed upon Fishwater.

Yeah, I know that's a common sentiment, more so on this board than the F&D board. But guess what? It really works.

Being a North La. Redneck I was not acquainted with the Jambalaya pros further south so I needed guidance :)

Why don't you just save it to your hard drive? That's the best way to save it.
