I spend about 100 days a yr in
the woods and this is the first
timber rattler I ever seen. Bout
3.5ft 10 rattles and a button.

If my cousins son wouldn't have
died last month from a timber rattler
I would have let it live but...

I was out there looking for my dog that ran off sat morning.

Looked all day Sat-Mon night. No
sign of her.
Best dog Ive ever owned.

Not giving up yet, be back looking tomorrow, through the rest of the weekend.

Your cousin's son died from a snake bite?! That's awful.

I hope you find your dog.

I loved that dog too. I thought at one point me and her were going to be sleeping in the recliner together

That's not a good reason according to some folks round here but any poision snake needs to die imo
Hope you find your dog & hope it didn't get bite by one of them frickers

Rattlesnakes have their place in this world.

That place is skinned out hanging over a gun rack.

My heart goes out to the parents of that little boy. Worst thing I've read in a while. No justice in this world when a 4 year old playing in his back yard gets killed by a rattlesnake.

First rattle snake i saw was in the national park walking trail along the ocean in jacksonville florida.
It was a diamond back though.
Was lucky it didnt bite anyone in our group. It didnt rattle until we were about 6" away.

That's it. I'm carrying a gun and machete everytime I go in the woods. I would have probably screamed like a girl at that.

Sorry to hear about your cousin.

I don't have the balls to go after a rattler with a machete. I like about 7-10 feet and a shotgun.

I went on a State game lands last month in search of some ponds that you have to hike 2-3 miles to reach here in PA. saw 12 in one area. I will not be back. killed two and decided it was time to leave since I was alone.
