Purely hypothetical I'm curious for the responses. Obviously, I'm taking about right now.

You don't need luck when you have a great QB like Brees.

See what your suggesting ,but no. Drew has got 3 to 5 good seasons at least left in him. Particularly with the way he takes care of himself. His biggest asset is his drive and work ethic. Plenty of time to keep looking for his future replacement.

No. Drew is intertwined in everything related to this franchise. Pull him out and there is no guarantee everything doesn't fall apart, even with how good Luck is

I love Brees, but yes. At this point, I would.

Only because I think that Luck will be a great one for the next 15 years and Brees has maybe 5 years left.

I feel wrong for even saying it, though.

Logic says yes but heart says no. We owe Drew everything. He IS the Saints. I'm keeping him.

Luck all day and that is not a slight against Brees in any way.

We are not talking about trading Brees for Manning, Brady, or even Rodgers.

We are talking about a guy who was drafted 2 years ago heading into his breakout season and still no where near his ceiling. A guy many think will end up being a Hall of Famer.

I would love to ride Drew for 3 more elite level playing years and see what we can accomplish.

However, The Saints have only landed 1 true franchise QB in their entire history and it was almost entirely a complete fluke that it happened.

How many of these once proud franchises since the departure of their HOF signal caller have continued their success with their own contingency plan?

For every 1 Green Bay(who got lucky in their own right in the 2005 Draft), there are 10 Miami's, Dallas's, etc. Who have had to ride the QB carousel for years hoping to find the next one.

It's a crapshoot, a dream, a hope. Every draft yields XYZ quarterback prospects and few of those turn out to be exactly what Luck appears to be.

Luck is the closest thing you have at the moment to a "lock" Franchise QB who can lead your team for the next 15 years.

I love Drew and will never forget what he has done, what he has meant, but if this situation ever presented itself I do not see how you can simply pass on securing a shot at keeping the Saints relevant year to year for the next 15 years versus our final hoorah stage with Drew.

Yes.

It pains me to say that, but with our defense aa good as it is, I think we could still win it all a couple of times in the next few years with the gap In e perience from brees to luck. And luck have another almost 15 years in him, I'm sure.

I would probably also be a colts fan until Brees retires

I can see the reasoning why people would, Luck young, Brees older.

But no thanks. I'll take Brees the next whatever years and see what happens afterwards.

You have a franchise Q.B. and H.O.F. Q.B. right now. Our shot at the Lombardi is NOW! You don't go friggin' around with the team chemistry trying to plug in even someone as talented as Luck. I say you take your shot now. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

No way.

We have a better chance at winning a SB with Drew on this team the next 5 years, than we would with Luck.

Payton will have his next QB lined up before Drew retires anyway.

No. There are too many great memories with Drew and he still has some gas left in the tank. I think Sean Payton will find a suitable replacement before it is officially over between Drew and the Saints organization whether it be from the draft, free agency, or through a big trade.

Absolutely, if Brees is lucky, he has 4 more good years left. Luck has 15. We would probably have close to the same shot of winning the title with each
