I could not be happy with him on another team. Trading for Luck may be the smart thing, but just not right.

There isn't a QB in the history of the NFL who could have done any better than Manning. In fact, there's only 4 or 5 QBs in the league's history who would have lasted longer than 2 to 3 years with the Saints at that time because of the beating they would have received on a game to game basis.

Obviously. The colts basically traded him for Manning and manning broke every record in the game last year. It was still a great decision by the colts.

Absolutely not.

Anything can happen with Luck in 4-5 years.

You still have 4 more years of elite possibility to legit win a championship every year.

That's nice people saying yes are thinking about the future, but the future is too now for this.

None of that makes sense, FYI.

The people saying they would do this trade are overthinking and underestimating the future.

It's absurd really.

However, The Saints have only landed 1 true franchise QB in their entire history and it was almost entirely a complete fluke that it happened.

Yeah, so let's just trade him away when he is still at the top of his game. How dumb can you be?

You're trading him for the closest thing to a sure thing there is.

I think Brees will be a better QB than Luck over the next three years. The question is, can he dekiver a superbowl win during those years. If the answer is yes there's no way you trade him. If the answer is no, you consider it.

For get the fact that Luck is a lot younger.

Who would you rather as your QB this season?

Granted it was a great move by the Colts. The Colts had bottomed out at that point and were rebuilding.

Mannings neck injury played a huge part in that decision.

And that's the difference. Right now we have one of the finest Q.B.'s to play the game still at his peak surrounded by a highly efficient Offense with a vastly improved defense, a top notch coaching staff. Right now there is more talent on this team than we have ever had. The stars are aligned maybe for the next 2 years. You don't get this opportunity often. Right now this team is loaded for bear. You take your shot now while he's in your sights.

Anyone saying no is being blinded by emotion.

That's a no brainer, you pounce on Luck. He's going to dominate the league once be figures it all out and gets a competent coaching staff around him

Easy answer for me: hell no.

Brees has been the face of the franchise and is universally beloved. Besides, what kind of message does that send the rest of your team? Even if you're still performing at a great level, we're looking to jettison you once you get to be over 30. Not a fan of that mercenary attitude, even though it obviously happens a lot in today's NFL.
Do you think the Pats would trade Brady for Luck? No way in hell.
