Have heard so much about this show. All my friends talk about it and I feel left out. Thought I'd catch up and see what's up. Any tips for a GoT noob going into the first season?

I got four episodes in and I couldn't take much more, I'm in the minority though. I hear you have to get through season 1 and then it gets really good.

Don't forget to take an occasional break to eat and drink. One cannot survive solely on GoT binging.

Well this is a bit too obvious.

I'm sorry that may be what the M/TV board considers a troll, but coming from me it's not...this show is horrendously boring. Same with Walking Dead. That's the most boring "popular" show on TV

Lumping GoT in with TWD? Now you aren't even trying.

I read the first two books then realized the author had no idea where any of that was going and was just making it up as he went along, planning to write resolutions later. I hate that.

I watched the first episode and couldn't get into it because I knew the story already.

David Benioff, the screenplay adaptor for GoT, is an incredible novelist in his own right and has quit writing books to do this GoT gig. Ridiculous.

Agree on Walking Dead. But Game of Thrones is awesome.

Make sure to make meaningful bonds with all the main characters.

fr33 is right, picking a favorite character and becoming very attached to him/her is the best way to watch the show.

Wait. So you watched 4 episodes of GoT and 2 seasons of Homeland?

After you bingewatch Season 1 read the books as you bingewatch Seasons 2-4.

GOT is awesome but there are some slow parts, some storylines you won't care about, and some episodes where you'll wonder if anything at all really happened. Its got great casting, acting, production, and storylines aren't rushed through.
