OT Running Subtle Brag Thread

I just finished running ten miles for the first time. Ten. 1.0. Double digits. I'm very proud of myself.
I've now lost 42 lbs so far this year. I feel fantastic. Gonna run a half this fall.
Just wanted to share because I'm really excited. I know everyone on the OT runs sub 5 min miles and marathons as morning warm ups. But I made a challenge to myself to be, at 32 years old, in the best shape of my life by the end of the year. I'm well on my way to that goal. Not doing anything crazy, just stopped eating stupid and started exercising.

Great job!
I was probably in the best shape of my life at 40, it's never to late.

Congrats! If you can already run 10 on your own, you could easily do a RNR type half with crowds, music etc.

Well we used to do this, but now we find it interferes with our SEAL training

Cool. Have you figured out where you're going to put the 13.1 sticker on your Subaru yet?

This is excellent work.
Tough to drop that much weight and stay disciplined.
The fact that you made yourself do this will positively impact other areas of your life.
Don't turn into one of those douchey, sanctimonious runners. Remember to be encouraging to other people.

Good deal. I think I was in the best shape of my life at 32 & 34. And good luck with the Gulf Coast Half. It's a great race. I'm sure I'll do it again this year. And if you're running 10 in this crap weather, you will be kickin' with a little cooler/less humid temps.
Keep it up.
Keep it up.
