Pretty funny. My old hood got traffic all the time, Mexicans, black war zone, and used to be suburbs but is now a strange mix of barrio and industry

it look mixed together when I first looked. Not my neighborhood but it fed into my high school. Black twilight zone is much more fitting. Probably the most unsafe I have felt going to a gas station in Houston. Good ole Acres Homes

Some of that does not make sense. Is that really where the Katrina Refugees wound up?

Absolutely. Alief brah!!

I worked a while in West Houston ER at the time after. One of only a couple times I have felt genuine fear of the people coming in and out.

"Used to be nice, now Little Mumbai"

Sounds about right... except it's still nice, just lots of Indians. And it's always been lots of Indians. My graduating class had more Asians than whites.

There are a lot of us here in the "still pissed about being annexed" zone.

Eta: well to clarify there are a lot of Louisiana folks up here, not necessarily all refugees.

Is midtown the douche place or the white people comment? Lived on Gray street directly above cyclone Anya's for a year and absolutely hated it

Fin, your Lafayette map is similar, but very general and simplified, although accurate. The Laffy OTers should collaborate on a larger Acadiana version.

No doubt, it would get mentioned in The Independent
