Exactly. You have guys on huge contracts playing in Des Moines and Birmingham. Not sure how Yankees or Red Sox players would do..

That is why the teams on the cusp of relegation fight so hard. The owners want that TV money and the wives and GFs of the players don't want that pay cut!!

Yeah as I said, it was just confusing when they kept discussing the FA Cup vs Premier League Cup/Title so I wasn't sure what was going on.

I think it could work in college football. Just got to go to big power conferences. The play off would be like champions league without group stages. It will never happen, but def enough teams to separate by region.

Premier league is 20 teams. Play every one twice, 38 games, team with most points at end wins. Fa cup is open to all teams in england. Just a knock out tourney. The reason you see small teams is because big clubs are trying to win the premier league and champions league, so they put weaker squads out fort the fa cup. It has gotten some scrutiny lately because it doesn'tmean as much as it once did.

Spain, Germany, Italy, France, etc... All have their domestic league like the premier league and have a domestic tourney like the fa cup. In Spain it is called the copa Del Rey. Its why some years you see Real and Barca play eachother 4-5 times in a season. 2 league matches, copa Del Rey matches and sometimes face each other in champions league.

Pretty quiet around here ahead of Sunday. I feel confident we will get a win. I'd like to see us finish second, third will be fine. Win would be nice to kickstart what I hope will be a title challenge next season.

I actually think United and us will be the teams to beat next year. I think Jose will wear these guys into the ground.

I could see that, especially if United makes the correct purchases this summer.

if we play our game i think we could win. Chelsea is going to sit back. If we just keep probing we def have the quality to get a goal.

Expect Zouma and Matic as CMs, basically six defenders. I expect more chances for us, but that really means nothing. Costa being possibly fit worries me, but no player has done more damage than Drogba to us. If he scores I will be buying Finn's a new TV.

Thrilled with our run of form. I criticized Arsene when things were bad, so I have to praise him for things being good.

But I do mostly agree with this article.

While I agree we need to strengthen, Wenger won't ever buy Godin and we won't be able to get Pogba if he's on the market. We need to find replacements for Arteta, Flamini, Diaby, and maybe Walcott. Also need to target replacements for Rosicky and Cazorla. Other than that we are very close to being a very good team.

Why do we need a replacement for Diaby? He hasn't played any meaningful minutes for over three seasons.

Won't he be out of contract? And while I like Diaby, it would be nice to have someone who hasn't been constantly hurt for the past few years.

I love his dedication to the club, and the club's dedication to him. But, he will never be a player to be in the automatic line up. Sad, because he could have been a stalwart for Arsenal. Need to take a NE Patriots attitude and just cut bait.

If he's in the 25 man squad, he needs to have a replacement lined up. Just a numbers game.

How many times has he been in that number? He is a fringe player at best. Give him a role with the club. He could have been a great player. Alas, what could have been.

Pretty sure he's always been in the 25, since he is overage and not homegrown. We need 25 players who can contribute, thus finding a replacement for Diaby is important, even if we fill that spot with a younger player with potential.

Mildly disturbing how much Jose is in Arsene's head. Arsene willingly sacrificed 30 minutes in the second half because he was so scared to lose at home to him. Very frustrating.

That's just smart. It's the only way to beat such a well-disciplined, cynical, dedicated approach. Try and nick something off a set piece or an individual moment of brilliance. If it doesn't happen wait for the last 10 minutes to all out attack. The players can't sustain that all game, and if you try it what will most likely happen is what you saw against Monaco. I view this as a sign Arsene is learning
