Bielik is official and a lot of rumors that Arsenal have activated the release clause of Gabriel Paulista, Brazilian defender for Villareal.

Saw that it might coincide with Joel Campbell being out the door.

Giroud: Zelalem will be great...in time

quote:

“Out of the field, I don’t know him very well. But he looks like a guy who is really shy and really respectful. He always listens to advice from his teammates. He’s still young. He still can improve himself.

“I think he can put more aggressiveness in his game. I know he’s not a strong fellow, but he’s a fantastic footballer. Technically, he’s amazing, and he sees everything before the other players. I think he will be a really great player, but he needs game time. He needs to play more. But he has fantastic quality.

“He’s really clever. He’s got really great technique. The main thing I think we would love to improve is the impact in the physical way. He will get muscles – he will get strong. He’s still so young.

“Honestly, I don’t know [how big an impact he’ll have]. But he’s a really talented player. I think he will need to play several games at the high level internationally. He will take advantage of it, and his confidence will increase.

“I’m sure he will be an important player for the U.S. national team, especially because he is really clever and his technique is fantastic.”

Arsene doing Diamond Club Q&A now has just said that Paulista deal virtually done, then tried to backtrack after giving too much away

Hopefully the work permit deal isn't going to be too high of hurdle.

Zelalem needs to put on some muscle but he's not as diminutive as he looks. He's probably 5'11" 150 and he's still 17.

When you see this, does it make you say "Wow Arsene is amazing at scouting talent and almost fielded a dream team" or "Wow Arsene managed to not sign one of these stars"?

More of the former than the latter.

Instead of the latter, it makes me realize just how hard it is to sign the top players.

God, would love to have Pogba right now though

You'll note which name is neither on the squad nor the injured players list...

I know the London papers are gossip rags, at least as far as sport rumours, but this sounds legit. I hope so, we need the reinforcement on the back line.

Okay, got it. He's a CB. When I saw "central defender," my first thought was a DM.

Campbell also going the other direction on loan for the rest of the season. Hopefully he can get some consistent minutes.
