In town visiting my girlfriend and need some help. I told her I couldn't come here without eating some type of classic poboy.

She suggested ye old college inn or mahony's. Should I go to one of these? Are these legit suggestions or should I fire her from making restaurant suggestions.

I know these is an extremely vague topic and there are a million diff places that would do

surf and turf at Parkway or go on the one day/week when they do oysters.

Some other good choices are the Frenchaletta or the oyster po'boy from Liuzza's

From this point forward you should remove her food decision-making authority.

As has been suggested go to Parkway. Best in the city IMO. Guy's on Magazine is also really good.

Their poboys are a bit different and you pay for the history.

I've only had their oyster bacon havarti one

ETA: Which is pretty solid.
