as I said when he was hired, he's had enough down moments in his coaching career to justify some critique.

as you've said, he's a really good hire for a short-term, turnaround guy. he'll do well at ManU for a couple of years, I have no doubt. But also as you said, even if they may not have the CV of LvG, I don't think City, Everton, or 'Pool would trade who they have. Spurs might because they are desperate to make a splash. Everton and Pool, like Arsenal before them (hell, like ManU before them), are focusing on the long-term, as much as one can in the PL.

It's just banter.. counter to all the talk of him being one... He's a fine manager and I'm sure he'll have you competing again next season.
I think we all agree with this. He's a fine manager. Just, some of us are less willing to crown him as one of the EPL's best until he starts getting results during the season.

And as far as I'm concerned, it was not a winning strategy vs. Costa Rica.

They won and they should have won.. Don't know if you watched that game, but the Dutch dominated and had more chances and should have netted 2-3.

But continue to criticize a coach for not playing a winning strategy even though they were the only team that won every game going into the semi's/ only team that won every game in group play if im not mistaken. They lost to a very good argentina team that features the best player in the world.

boring or not, it was not a bad strategy.

this is retarded. He has won more trophies than anyone else on that list. He has a better winning percentage than anyone else on that list minus the special one. He is one of two managers in the BPL that has a CL title. He has won titles in multiple different leagues. Hell he has a better career winning percentage than Sir Alex.

You don't have to concede a title/cup/ top 4 finish to United or even concede that he will do well at United, but to not acknowledge LvG as a great manager is foolish.

Creating chances and hitting the post doesn't mean you deserve goals and deserve to win. Putting the ball in the back of the net deserves a goal.

I think we all get it, amirite? You said something and people responded. Whether they agree with you or not, it's all still banter.

64% possession
20 total shots to 6
15 on target 10 3
11 corners to 1

They were obviously the better team if you watched the game. I think in overtime Costa Rica had maybe got the ball in the dutch third once.

I'm not sure what about this game you saw that you didn't think the Dutch were the better team that day and that you didn't think they deserved the win they got

It's not just their financial strength that will be on their side. Without having to play in Europe, they will have added rest, especially later in the season.

I made the list and Redknapp was definitely false but I was trying to get to 6

I'd definitely take mourinho, Wenger, an Martinez and Pell too honestly. I wouldn't personally take Rodgers but they ha d a good season, gotta give him that. Interested to see how they do in the CL.

Can't imagine this will go over well here but I'm pretty high on Tony Pulis too.

lol Pell is the same age and has done much less

LvG has wrecked shop everywhere he goes, he will be good for the turn around to get United back on its feet before someone like Giggs is ready to take over.
