I think this is partially true. I think he is so worried about it being a dissapointment that he lingers on every word. His best work came when he wasn't in the spotlight, but that day has come and gone. Now everyone is looking over his shoulder not only demanding greatness, but also demanding it in a timely manner. All that said... HURRY UP AND WRITE FAT MAN!!!

I worry about George dying before he finishes book 7. He literally writes at a snail's pace since the start of this century.

While I would be pretty pissed about people speculating that I'm going to fricking die soon and, therefore, will never finish my masterwork, he should stop doing interviews, stop fricking around with other stories and collections, and focus on finishing the next 2 (or 3) books before he gets passed by the show and the whole thing turns to shite.
