East of Eden
Rebel without a cause
or Giant?
Best pure actor I've ever seen myself.

Didn't Franco play him in a movie?

He was phenomenal in all three imo. But yeah Giant was his best.

None of his performances are great from start to finish. But he has great moments. This is his best scene:
East Of Eden - father's birthday party
The scene was supposed to end with James Dean simply giving back the money and walking out. Dean improvised his crying, hugging actor Raymond Massey (who is so surprised he can only say "Cal!"), and storming out in tears.

Only one I've seen. Need to get around to the other two.
I thought the title of this movie was a bit of misnomer, or maybe being 29 I don't understand the time period, but I thought his character was a whiny bitch, not the cool "bad kid" I had always thought it was about. Maybe I shouldn't blame the movie for that, but talk about left field.
Cry some more Jim.

He used to sell the shite out of some sausage in those commercials.
