World cup.... anyone not pulling for usa?

im not a soccer fan but im definitely for 
reason i ask is because i gota friend who is a soccer fanatic but is not for usa, he is for germany...is this normal? do alot of soccer fans not pull for our country or is he just an idiot? fwiw he has kinda been a bandwagon fan... patriots,lakers, usc/fsu football, duke basketball... get the picture?

Anyone from the US who is not a dual citizen and pulls for another team confuses the hell out of me.
And to clarify: Studying one semester in Berlin or having a German sounding last name is not being a dual citizen

I know a guy from Jersey not pulling for the USA (not New Jersey but Jersey on the other side of the atlantic) He now lives in the USA but is from Jersey.
But if someone from this country pulled against our own country I would want to throw him out of this country.
if your family has roots in another country I can understand but if you are born and raised and so are your parents and grandparents you shouldn't be pulling against the USA. That is approaching treason.
