So I have a state discount of 18% off att. I currently have Cox at 25 Mbps. I was told by a att tech that our neighborhood has fiber to the home. Would I have a better experience with uverse or should I stay with cox?

The gateway Cox gave us sucks but that's the only problem.

75/25 its not and price wise you'll get maybe 18 for the price you pay Cox...

I have the 18mbps from uverse and have no problem doing anything i need... Uverse tv is way better than cox, I got so tired of billing issues with Cox that i left and went with Uverse. No problems so far.
It will probably be more expensive to get the same level of mbps but it might be worth your wild if its close in cost to switch.
Again, i am way more satisfied with uverse.

Where at? I could probably tell you if you actually have fiber to the home or not. AT&T likes to call what they have fiber to the home but in reality it's not. It fiber somewhere closeish to your neighborhood and from there its old crappy cat3 to your house.
I build ROW sites for AT&T and wouldn't use that crap if it was given to me.
ETA: anything is better than Cox, so there's that

Agreed, but its based off the bandwidth you are able to get...

I'm going to have to choose between one of the two within the next week, and it looks like Uverse's internet is quite a bit cheaper than Cox.

what he said. TV is way better. No contest vs. Cox. And the difference in the speed of the internet vs. Cox is barely noticeable. So Uverse >>>>>> Cox

$65 for 45 down (for a year) with a one year contract

Once my 24 down for $45 goes away I'm moving on up for a year.

ETA:

Also, my speeds are a lot more consistent than when I had Cox but that was about 3-4 years ago

Are you sure that discount applies to Uverse and not just cell phone voice and data?

Cox is more stable than it used to be but ours still a "community system" vs a true end to end ip system like the rest so you will still see fluctuation in peak use times.
If I'm not mistaken, Woodstock does/will have fiber all the way to the home with AT&T. My wife used to be the realtor for dsld in that neighborhood but I'm trying to verify with one of my AT&T contacts.
