Considering the schedule we play each year in football...

Does it not make you worried that we are going into the 2014 season with only two quarterbacks, one a sophomore who has played on game and one drive and true freshman who has not played a down of college football?
What happens if Jennings goes down, all we have is a true freshman with zero college football experience and behind him no quarterback whatsoever.
We surely would miss Stephen Rivers and I wished he was there with the team when we went into Jordan Hare stadium and Ben Hill Griffin stadium this fall. He could come in and take some snaps in a high pressure situation and help.
Seriously QB development under Miles have been horrible
(1) Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell, he inherited.
(2) Ryan Perriloux, considering his issues should not have been recruited, but I shall give Miles a pass on that
(3) Jarrett Lee had NFL potential but his career was destroyed by Crowton/Stud/Miles and co.
(4) Jordan Jefferson regressed every year.
(5) Chris Garrett was thrown out. No character or academic issues.
(6) Russell Shepard was the number 1 dual threat QB to come out of high school, moved to wide receiver and really did not make much of an impact either at WR or QB.
(7) Stephen Rivers, leaves after graduating in 3 years. Smart and good character guy.
(8) Hayden Retting leaves because we are moving to read option.
(9) Zach Mettenberger, had all the goods to be a NFL QB. He struggled mightly in 2012 and finally pulled off a great season in 2013. Considering the talent he has and that he was a fifth year senior ready for the NFL, hardly a surprise.
(10) Now true freshman Brandon Harris seems to be beating out Anthony Jennings.
Lets face it, LSU under Miles has been the graveyard for QB's. Our talent and luck has helped us but we will get burnt one year for this.
Does it occur to Miles that if Harris beats out Jennings and Jennings transfers, we will be left without a backup QB on scholarship?

Sunshine pumper in one thread and negatiger in another.
I'm so confused.
I'm so confused.

This sentence alone discredits anything you say for the rest of your shitty life.

Russian was supposed to catch that, not you. Oh well, not editing.

Well this is wrong. We have several other quarterbacks on the roster.
How many teams can you name that would have a successful season if their top 2 QBs went down to season ending injuries?

Why? Dude would have been the fourth string QB and wouldn't come close to the field.

Jarrett Lee had NFL potential

Chris Garrett was thrown out. No character or academic issues. (6) Russell Shepard was the number 1 dual threat QB to come out of high school, moved to wide receiver and really did not make much of an impact either at WR or QB.

Ok?

Where are you digging this up from?
quote:
Zach Mettenberger, had all the goods to be a NFL QB.
Ok and he got drafted by the Titans...is that Miles' fault?
quote:
Now true freshman Brandon Harris seems to be beating out Anthony Jennings.
And the problem?

Does it occur to Miles that if Harris beats out Jennings and Jennings transfers, we will be left without a backup QB on scholarship?
What makes you think he is such a pussy that he will flee at the thought of being a backup QB? And no, maybe you should tell Miles.
Man, your baseball thread wasn't bad, but this thread absolutely sucks dick.

I'm sure Miles has no idea that this could happen.
Maybe shoot him a tweet and let him know.

And under Les, Russell started 2 yrs and was the #1 overall pick in the draft. Under Les, Flynn let the team to a national title and is still in the NFL.

What issues did RP have before he was recruited and signed at LSU?
quote:
(3) Jarrett Lee had NFL potential but his career was destroyed by Crowton/Stud/Miles and co.
This is ridiculous. Lee? NFL potential? He shite his pants every time a defender said "boo."
quote:
(4) Jordan Jefferson regressed every year.
Regressing is not the same as not improving. JJ was the same in year 1 as he was in year 4.
quote:
(5) Chris Garrett was thrown out. No character or academic issues.
Not sure what this has to do with QB development.
quote:
(6) Russell Shepard was the number 1 dual threat QB to come out of high school, moved to wide receiver and really did not make much of an impact either at WR or QB.
Fair enough.

(7) Stephen Rivers, leaves after graduating in 3 years. Smart and good character guy.

(8) Hayden Retting leaves because we are moving to read option.
Oh that's right. We have two black quarterbacks, so we must be moving to the read option.

So, you discount Miles and co. for an actual QB development success story by suggesting that it was ZM's talent alone that got him where it did.
quote:
(10) Now true freshman Brandon Harris seems to be beating out Anthony Jennings.
So you'd rather AJ start simply because he's been here longer?

That's exactly what he did.
Dude is a clown.

Can't bash Mainieri but Les is fair game?

I disagree. Lee was thrown into the fire before he was ready. However, he improved each year, bailed us out of several games in 2010, and got us off to a great start in 2011.

You have no idea what you are talking about with Hayden. You have no idea what we are gonna run this year. He likely transferred because he was passed up by 2 better QBs.
Did it ever occur to you that Jennings isn't going to leave mid season? If he leaves after the season we will recruit 1 or 2 QB and we will have 2-3 scholarship QBs. You are dumb. What do you suggest? A 2 QB system so the other one won't leave? You are a dolt.

This doesn't take a kid from having NFL potential, to not having NFL potential.
It can cause them to lose confidence, but if you have NFL potential you have NFL potential.
Lee did not have much NFL potential.

not sure he had any issues in high school...

this happens all over ncaa

this is false...sr year he only played half a year basically...

he wont transfer til after this season...no way he does it right before or during...and we will sign another qb in the next class regardless if jennings transfers or not

Lee did not have much NFL potential.
I was not debating this.
My point was that he was not a terrible QB his whole time here. In fact, he appeared to get better.

Wait, what?
Also, if we lose two QBs to injury during the season, we're fricked anyway.

Never, ever, ever.

Mike you have some valid points but as long as Cam Cameron is here I'm not worried! After he leaves though then i'm gonna be worried again Relax we are in good hands with Cam!it is a little scary with only really 2 athelete Qb's In Cam we trust!
