Best Job Boards?

What do you use?
LinkedIn is pretty solid, but it is only a small subset of companies that pay to be on it.
What's your approach to filter through the BS and find the decent opportunities?
Monster? Indeed? The Ladders?

Indeed was the most useful to me last time I was looking (~2yrs back)

For you: Look for a headhunter.
Jobs at your caliber aren't getting posted online.

For me it was LinkedIn and a headhunter.
I've browsed Indeed, but never used it to apply. It helped judge available jobs and salary information when listed.

I used indeed too, but the few decent looking jobs never turned out to be what they seemed.
A headhunter doesn't want to waste your time or the company's. That's the way to go.

I've had Robert Half recruiters contact me unsolicited(don't know how they got my resume) a few times. They were trying to sell me on how they land the top finance jobs in America. ok.
I've never used them as I'm not interested in a job change at this time, but not real sure what kind of positions they land for people or if they are even worth a damn.
So I didn't help at all. Sorry.

I used LinkedIn and speak with recruiters for industries and location specific stuff. Signed up for free trial of LinkedIn premium and actually got a number of callbacks for decent PE gigs.
Other than that, i use my alumni network and career search.
ETA: Looks like i was late to the party

What kind of work you looking into?
Posted on 6/3/14 at 10:17 pm to lynxcat
I look for the company I want to work for and check their site, find inside connections or even go through a recruiter. Then be patient. Thanks for checking out my resume a while back, started a new job 3 weeks ago

Appreciate the feedback. I'm being pretty selective and it will take a pretty amazing opportunity to get me to make the switch, however, I think it is time to see what the market has available.
I have gotten responses back in 2-3 days from the couple of random applications I submitted...so I will take that as a good sign that the resume/experience is valued. Interested to see what happens.
Primarily interested in strategy, brand management, or analyst roles at well known companies. The positions are out there...just a pain to track them down and for the salary to be in line with my needs.

Glad I was able to play a small part in helping you out. Congrats on the new gig!
I'm willing to consider most industries. I am more interested in cultural fit, development, role, and pay...not necessarily in that exact order but not far from it.

Thanks. Growth was my big thing, so I focused on one company only. Applied for 3 positions, got 2 calls and pretty much picked the one I wanted. It is tough going back to being the guy who doesn't know anything. Plenty of videos, shadowing and reading. Boring and painful. If all goes well, I may be here forever

I assume you are willing to relocate?

Recently relocated to a big market so I am not really looking to make another move at this point. I think the move happened since we last spoke...was definitely willing to get out of the last spot and in a top 10 market now.
