I know about Avenue pub, the bulldog, etc.

Going to a wedding soon and staying in the quarter. Any decent beer bars around (closer than DBA)? Do the "big arse beers to go" offer some IPA's or anything?

There's a "beer bar" on Bourbon, I can't remember the name but don't go there. I think it was $9 for an Envie.

That might be a place called "Beer Fest" on Bourbon for the last few years, not sure if it's still open. Not the cleanest lines from what I remember, decent selection of imports.

Also, Bar Tonique ( LINK) may have an okay selection as well.

I would NEVER get tap beer on Bourbon.

Pretty good rule of thumb: when you go to a beer bar, look at the floors. You can tell if they have been recently mopped. If they don't care to mop the floor regularly, they sure as hell aren't cleaning their tap lines regularly.

I'm talking about that shithole that we met up in for FQF. I think it may have been the miller lite growler place

Thanks for all of the replies. Now I can't get the image of some dude stumbling on bourbon street swilling Miller Lite out of a growler out of my head.

I'll probably just stick to whiskey drinks in the quarter.

Actually the beer companies clean the lines on a pretty regular basis. It's in their best interests to have their beer taste good. Not sure about this logic. More likely that the glassware would be dirty.

I forgot the name but there's a new bar next door to Mojo's on Decatur. It's less than a year old and had the best selection I've seen in the quarter. A few IPAs, overall it would compare the selection to bulldog with bulldog being better.
