I used to religiously use evernote now its Keep in a landslide. i cant imagine going back to that other 'swiss army knife' app.

imo evernote suffers the microsoft software syndrome; add a billion leventy features to what should be simple & elegant and you'll eventually alienate your user base.

I don't like Evernote either. If you use a PC and want to share info with your (or other people's) mobile devices in any way, OneNote is far better than both Evernote or Keep IMO.

I use the native iOS Notes app. Works pretty well.

i keep recipe shopping lists, measurements for shite in my house (like deck dimensions, window frame sizes, room size), notes to myself about all kinds of things like birthday shoppping lists, etc and personal info like my kids' SSN numbers that i'm always having to dig up to enter on medical forms.

since its availble on phone or via google (www.google.com/keep) i never have to worry about losing any of the info if my phone dies.

What's wrong with LINK ]

I regularly use multiple browsers and open/close tabs through the day. It's just easier to have the evernote app open and in the background on all of my computers all the time. I've tried web based sync stuff, and it just always proves more frustrating than having apps.

Same reason I could never get into Google all access vs. spotify.

Fair point, but I guess I've gotten used to working with web apps since I'm on Linux. I keep gmail and other google apps in pinned tabs in chrome, and I have chrome running all the time anyway. And I don't mind using chrome apps, either, since they open and run just like native apps.

kork, i dont have a chromebook and use chrome sporadically on my PC (mostly use firefox)

what are chrome apps?

is this different than google docs, etc.? I use those things all the time and they are FANTASTIC especially since the recent updates to android to add almost full functionality on my phone as well.

I don't have a chromebook, either. Chrome apps run on regular computers, but they are different than regular web apps (like google docs). They run inside Chrome, but they aren't web pages, and some of them add an entry to your start menu. For example, the Keep chrome app launches in its own resized chrome window, so it acts just like a desktop app. Install it and give it a whirl
