Good post.
People forget how much of an asset Brooks was on a bad team during a troubled time for the franchise. Some may argue it's more of a testimony to how bad the Saints are historically than how good of a QB Brooks is, which may be true, but we are the Saints and he's one of the best.
He deserves to be there.

Aaron Brooks and Hall of Fame should never be used in the same sentence. I'll never forget seeing his stupid grin after throwing interceptions. He thought it was the funniest damn thing.

That is dumb....there are 3 qbs in the Saints HOF....Brooks was better statistically than all of them...and he won a playoff game which they didn't do.
If somebody didn't F up in Miami Brooks may well still be the best QB in Saints history.

This is the stupidest thing I ever heard. What do you idiots want him to do? Throw his helmet down and kick the gatorade table down? I suppose you have never smiled out of frustration when you did something stupid.
But let me guess--When Bobby Hebert wagged his index player at every WR who dropped one of his passes EVERY TIME they got back in the huddle, he was a "fiery competitor." Nothing was EVER Bobby Hebert's fault.

Agreed, I never understood the stupid fan reaction created by Aaron Brooks smile. Some people just process things different ways. If tiger woods slams a club and curses after a bad shot people crucify him. I just think people are just looking for shite to gripe about.

I know Brooks is looked back as a tale of two quarterbacks, pre contract Brooks and post contract Brooks.
I remember the good more than the bad, and I don't think his bad should over shadow the spark he put into this franchise.
Brooks came off the bench to lead us to that spark of success in 2000, he wasn't supposed to be the guy to bring us our first playoff victory, but he was, and he has a place on my wall for it.
I know Brooks is looked back as a tale of two quarterbacks, pre contract Brooks and post contract Brooks.

If that happened, I love for Drew Brees to get on the PA system and call out any "fan" that boo'd a Saints HOF player.
If you don't like Brooks or don't think he should be in the HOF, just keep your damn mouth shut. But unfortunately, some folks can't control their inner asseholisty.
