Well sonuvabitch, the earth is heating to crazy levels, the Arctic is melting and now whiskey is running dry.

There won't be a shortage on standard whiskey... just the high-end aged stuff. You can't go back in time and make more whiskey 12 years ago.

Strangely enough, liquor is cyclical. Bourbon is the hooch du jour now, but a few years ago it was premium tequila. Ten years ago it was premium vodka. I am (or was) a huge consumer of crazy bourbons - I've got 18 open bottles - but I really curtailed my buying when it became so much of a pain. My days of driving across the state for a bottle of Pappy are over, and I bet a lot of people are getting burned out of not being able to find their favorite bottle. As long as I can find a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel when I want one I'll be fine.

Irish whiskey is now the craze ... as someone said earlier, it'll change ... gin is going gangbusters in spain, so who knows what will be next ... probably rum ...

someone that owns a store back home told me that india is now paying 60 bucks for a fifth of old charter now so he is having trouble getting it. said that the factories cannot supply the amount to both because they would have to hire more manpower. so, they chose to send it to india obviously. I wonder if india is buying up all of the whiskey?
