Not in the first though we could do a lot worse and take a project pass rusher.
Would love to get him in the second. My preference is Matthews in the second though.

Centers is what rules the NFl, fl hates pass rushers

If Barr falls in the first I could live with that(better options being gone), but anyone else isn't worth it in the first imo. Perfectly happy with a good one(like Ford or Lawrence) in the second though.

don't mind Martin, just not in the 1st

If he's not a 1st rounder why was he invited to the green room for the draft? Saints are the team in most need of a center.

This is my problem with people who say "Not in the first". You can't tell me if Martin is a 10 year Pro Bowl starter that anchors your line isn't worth a first.
I don't know crap about the kid and if he is legit but a player like that improves the whole lines performance from running game to pass protection.
Let's slow down and stop acting it's the same as drafting a punter.

My only issues with him in the first are the players we may pass up to get him(but all the ones I like may be gone) and the fact that most have a 2nd round grade on him.
If the Saints take him in the first then I'd accept it and hope they are right about him. More realistically I think they can drop back in the second and pick up a pick or two and still get him.

If he is we aren't paying to keep him

I have no agenda in this, just asking.
Saw a rotoworld mock today with the Saints picking Martin in the first. Most mocks have the Saints going DE or CB or WR, etc.
I do know centers are rarely 1st round picks and Martin is graded 2nd, maybe 3rd, because of that, although he could be a LG/C/RG utility type.

Frederick last year was considered by "experts" to be a 2nd-3rd round talent and the Cowboys picked him late in the 1st and it turned out pretty good. He was an absolute beast in run blocking.
If we could get a great run blocking center I think that would make everything on offense a lot easier. I think it would have a bigger impact than someone like Cooks or Beckham.
But others here will tell you no center is worth a 1st or even a 2nd.

i said he would be a sleeper pick in the 1st round for the saints a month ago. People get so caught up in grades, which don't mean shite. If he is your favorite player take him.

Did not run the 40-yard dash at the combine but ran two horrible tests at USC pro day, according to Rob Rang of CBS Sports, coming in at 5.52 and 5.36 seconds, which would slot him as the slowest center among participants in Indy.
Had an extremely disappointing bench press exhibition at the combine, where only 10 offensive linemen logged a lower number of reps than his measly 23.

Wouldn't like it in the first, but I'd get over it. Would love it in the 2nd.
